Nice and easy walk, I suffer from arthritis in both hips and I was fine walking along the boardwalk where you can see local birds, people collecting shellfish, in between the sand dunes. Worth a wander and it is free!!!
What a walk so scenic and beautiful .. Could imagine the suntan you would get in warmer weather . Take some water as its a long walk that shows the beauty that Alvor is ..
very good walk especialy in the winter because in the summer you would rather go to the 10 km beach next to it
The town fathers hit a home run with this one. Well desinged and executed, it takes you through the salt marsh without tramoing the fauna, and with great views of the estuary and surrounding landscape.Loved it!
Bracing walk to give some nice views across the coast and back inland. Take some sun shades as could be v hot mid season.
An excellent facility offering a place for joggers, those wanting access to the beach or a pleasant stroll through an extensive nature reserve. When we went in October in the middle of the migration season there was a very good range of bird species and a few specials. It was very good in the mornings and early evening as the light is in the right place to get the best views of the birds and scenery.
gave you great views and you walk right out into the marshlands; was very windy. There was a restaurant that you could reach. Many people were walking their dogs.
Tour not to be missed on a protected natural scenery ! The walking tour is done by the Ria de Alvor, beautiful natural landscape with rich wildlife, particularly birds. Advise early morning or sunsets.
This boardwalk goes for several kilometers behind the sand dunes and out onto the beach. Easy walking and wheelchair accessible. Good views of the Alvor river estuary with plenty of bird watching available.
Found the boardwalk easy accessable with no obstacles and very clean...nice comfortable walk, which people of all ages would manage...overlooking the beach.
