The Roman bath ruins are quite well preserved, particularly the underground heating system. There is a short explanatory film at the beginning, which is also quite good. The audiotour is (sadly) very dull and seems to drain any interest or excitement from the ruins.Never mind, it is only a couple of euros to get in, so it is still worth a visit but not for longer than 30 minutes. Some nice postcards and Roman souvenirs available for any students studying classics.
4 hours of relaxation and luxury. My husband and I enjoyed our time here to unwind and relax. This was truly an amazing couples experience. Not for the shy due to being all nude. But, when in Germany, do as the Germans do...
Great experience. My husband and I choose a day when genders are mixed so that we could travel through the experience together. I highly recommend doing it as a couple.
I couldnt forget the great experience i had in Roman bath and Friedrichsbad spa.Baden Baden is one of the best choise in western Europe for Baths, Massage, SPA and similar kind of these stuffs. I had 4 days staying in Baden Baden for Bath, SPA and some treatments. There is one course i didnt do it but i advice everybody to do it.. i mean couple. It is so interestiong to have make full course of SPA treatment as couple.Visited in June 2013
After enjoying a day at the Caracalla Baths, it was interesting to see how this region has been a hotbed for spas for centuries. I enjoyed seeing the engineering behind the construction of the roman baths, as well as the model recreation. The way it is set up, you can walk through on grates, without disturbing the actual ruins. It was a small but mighty exhibit.
The ruins itself are nice, but what 's on top is execellent: The Friedrichsbad. Bath like the Romans, if you take the whole package with soap/brush and massage it's like a visit to the sauna and hammam combined. 4 hrs later you feel envigorated ! Go on mixed days when male/females bathe together. Of course everybody is in the nude , this adds to a very relaxed athmosphere.
Basic ruins, but worth it. It's only a few bucks to see, AND it's the foundation of the Fredricksbad. Nice little treasure.
For anyone who has seen the remains of ancient baths in Rome (Caracalla, etc.), or at any major Roman site, the Roman baths at Baden-Baden are of minor interest. But the walk up to them and the ruins themselves make a pleasant way of passing a couple of hours.
A really interesting and educational attraction Extremely busy but in October we didn't have to wait to long to get to each exhibit. Allow plenty of time to go around.
Walked through town to visit this attraction on a Saturday afternoon only to find it appeared to be rarely open - 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon on most days. Very disappointing on a Saturday afternoon when the streets were full of tourists.
