We loved the hiking and "getting away from it all". We have met people from all over the world hiking at Acadia!
Most beautiful area on the east coast. Camping, hiking, biking view after view, Some excellent eating spots. A few too many tourists in the summer.Been there every year but 3 since 1966!
MDI is my most treasured place in the world! There is nothing I don't love about this place! From the activities, to the scenery, to the people and everything in between. I recommend going to the "back side" of the Island... ask a local
There was nothing to dislike about this...well, maybe the lack of parking, but , hey, it was summer! The views go on & on! Wish I'd remembered the binoculars!
Awesome views. Wonderful hikes. Everything in Acadia park is one great thing after another. Sitting here to watch the water is as simple as it gets.
Mount Desert Island offers the most beautiful scenic views that can be found anywhere. You will find scenic mountains, sea, seagulls, birds, and ocean life along with great little towns and wonderful people.
There is something about this island that is magical. Rock climbing, hiking, paddle boarding in the lakes and on the ocean - it is a beautiful place to connect with nature and yourself. The people here are amazing. My favorite trail is Precipice - it's short but an intense vertical climb with a breathtaking view at the top.
A beautiful island with many attractions. I am counting down the days until I can come back here to visit.
Acadia National Park is absolutely a must see. We were there at the very beginning of tourist season so it was not "too" crowded. Wonderful views. Go to the top of Cadillac Mountain - we were there on a night when a bag piper played for the sunset. Worth the chill.
We have spent many summer in and around MDI with my family over the past 30 years. We even spent some Christmas' around the island, you have park to yourselves.
