This is a piece of Argentine history. Those who love cars will love this place too. Old cars, pictures of Argentina's famous car-racer, modern setting.. Kids will enjoy this.
We loved to see the exhibits that helped us travel back to the glorious times of Juan Manuel Fangio and his crew. The museum clearly helps one assess his feat at its true size.
I am not a car-racing fan, so my opinion is unbiased. I accompanied my husband and was impressed by the quality of the exhibit. The sheer number of cars on display (some are originals, some are replicas), the cheap audio-guide service provided in English or Spanish, the children's area where the smaller ones can get into race cars and pretend to be Formula 1 champions, the cafeteria, the gift shop...it all adds up to a first level museum. We visited on a warm day and I would only recommend that air conditioning be installed, as it was stuffingly hot inside.
I heard about this museum in my travel book and really enjoyed it.They have three floors and many cars to view. The museum has a lot to see and you will need at least two hours to have a really good look at this fantastic car museum which was started by Formula 1 Racecar Driver Juan Manuel Fangio who was a Champion who won 5 Times In The World. This museum is a must to visit in Argentina and they have a second museum and cafe dedicated to this wonderful man as well.
Juan Manuel Fangio, one of the most famous racing drivers of fifties, has a museum in his memory in his home town of Balcarce. A multi-storey building with a spiral roadway climbing up the centre tells the story of Fangio’s life with many of his racing cars and memorabilia. The museum is beautifully laid out and full of interesting material- well worth a visit
It could not have been better, the visit to the Fangio Museum in Balcarce. Fabulous racing and other cars, geat exhibitions and building, friendly staff and management. A whole day full of racing items, stories, even experiencing a ride in a Chevrolet 1939/46 driven by Mr. Fangio himself. Woooooww! I smiles for the next two days!
