It doesn't beat the Chiesa del Gesu, but is still full of Baroque gems.
When in Palermo whichever church you go in is simply beautiful. Sicilian baroque is much more beautiful than baroque in rest of the Europe, as it is going to extreme. I was personaly not a big fan of baroque, but what I saw in Sicily changed my mind.
El exterior puede parecer muy usual en la ciudad pero el interior es impresionante. Nave tras nave, escultura tras escultura y pintura tras pintura te muestra un lugar inolvidable.
Right at the Quatro Canti is this gem of Baroque church bonce reserved only to the favored few and rich.Surprising amount of marble intrticate artistry.
You definitly must go inside and see this beauty. Don't miss it because it truly looks amazing. I love it!
This church faces the famous Bellini Square. It is possibly the most beautiful church in town. Once you're inside, you will get stunned at the richness of its fabulous decoration.
A riot of baroque adorns the interior of this enormous church that forms one of the corners of the Quattro Canti in the heart of Palermo. Not open all day.
This church is a stunning collection of ornate artistry from the inlay work, to the painting, to the carvings. There is no rest for the eyes with a million details to see. It's hard to tell in some cases where one artisan left off and another began. Definitely worth seeing!!
We visited a couple of times. First, in the evening then cam back the next day to see the mosaics with better light. Not in the category of the grand European cathedrals, but worth a visit nevertheless.
