It might not be as scenic or picturesque as the white sand beaches but once you get past that, it's a true beauty. The sand is black but smooth and nice to walk or stroll around barefoot. There are food stalls, restaurants and surf shops/schools.The beach is not just for surfing, kids love the waves and families can enjoy the wide beach front. After surfing, we played with a Frisbee with friends.Best to enjoy the view while having coffee and seeing the sunrise at 5:30AM.
I wish they have like tents or umbrellas by the beach. best for surfers but not for people who wants to just chill and watch.
It was not sunny that day and was mostly cloudy , We chose to stay in Sabang beach , It has fine gray sand and a wide open coast. It may not have a white sand but the beach itself feels relaxing especially hearing the sound of waves. The sand feels nice while soaking my feet. The seashore was clean i could tell as it does not feel slimy nor itchy.
Good waves for surfing. Beginners and professionals can surf here. My instructor brought me to the mouth of the river as a beginner and I think, this is the perfect place for beginners. For pro, Cobra Reef is the suitable place.Sabang beach is also a good place to surf because it is sandy. Even if a beginner smashes underwater, only the sands can scratch his body. However, the cleanliness of the beach is not well maintained. Thrashes are everywhere! For this reason that I give only 3 stars.Hotels, inns and homestays are all there. Some are even offering tents.
lovely wide shoreline with very fine gray sands; you can walk barefooted without worrying of hurting your feet. beach is clean and no nipa huts and boats that will distract the ocean view.
Baler, Aurora is a perfect place for thrill seekers like me. It was the perfect weekend getaway for those who need a quick high on life, especially for busy people who just want to escape their routinely weekdays. 24 hours is just enough for you to experience Baler's treasures. What I loved about Baler is how it's so raw. With the exception of Costa Pacifica, the whole place is so humble and native. Bay's Inn really brings out the surfer in you with its rustic and tropical decor. If you're cheap like me, get a transient house at the back of the beach. The locals are very accomodating. They don't try too hard to please visitors unlike most tourist spots here.Surfing, of course, is a must. It was the first thing I tried when I reached the place. I tried it without prior knowledge about surfing, yet I was able to enjoy every single second of it. I recommend delaying it to the last bit of your trip (especially if you're not physically-fit) since it really drains your energy. If you're stubborn like me, then follow my trail and get it over with as soon as you get there since body pains are nothing for thrill seekers anyway.Spend some time going around the place. If you like hiking, go to Ditumabo (the name actually varies depending on the sign you read) falls, 20 minutes away on the road. Get your snapshots in the balete tree, hanging bridge, and Aniao islets too! Visit the town proper and walk around like a local! Immerse yourself—plunge into the waters, dive into adventures, and sink into the depths of adventures that only Baler can offer. :)
I didn't know surfing was so much fun until we went to Baler. Hands down best water activity ever. I'll be back really soon.
We went there in December, so the waves was quite strong. So swimming is not possible. However, it's really a place for surfing, though I heard that at other times of the year, the water is calmer and swimming is possible. If there are waves, be sure to sign up for a one hour surfing lesson. You'll want to surf again after.
The beach is great. There's a lot people on shore even though the waves are strong. One thing I noticed positively is that locals are very much concern about the safety of the visitors (tourists) along the shore but the negative thing I observed is that there's some trash along the shore. It's much great if the local officials will form a cleaning brigade to totally clean the shoreline. We only stay overnight but we will be coming back pretty soon.
There are lots of surfing instructors. P350 per hr for the instructor and surf board. I thought it was very hard to do it. But the instructors will help you and you may Learn surfing in 1hr! The beach is not very good for swimming because of the big waves but great for surfing.
