What a great area, lots of fun shops, and the dino are mega cool!!!
Maybe I was expecting too much but the word "town" meant something bigger than a big farm house with multiple shops to me but this was exactly what it was. I'm not much of a knick knack shopper but if others are, they should drop by. There are shops with lamps, souvenirs, and of course lots of fountains and garden/yard theme items. My son did enjoy the metal dinosaurs but after 10 minutes he was ready to move on.
The fantastic iron sculptures catch your eyes, and there is the most amazing "wooly" mammoth but once you go into the shop area it is a bit of a disappoint. If I had kids with me, I would have wondered were are the small toy dinosaurs ?
What a unique place. Will have to go back when I have space in my car and more $$$ in my pocket as some of the fountains are wonderful.
It was interesting to see these giants. There were lots of them. We weren't sure if it was a local artist who built them or if they came from Mexico.
When driving down highway 92 to Half Moon Bay, one wonders have he dinosaurs taken over the coast? You see the Dinosaurs in their garden area, looking at you, deciding what their next step will be. Your kids will wonder how high are they? Yes, its worth stopping for a bit to take some pictures of these interesting metal dinosaursand then go into Spanishtown and take a look through the stores. I enjoyed this a lot.I liked the garden store packed with fountains and sculptures the most.
Spanishtown is a collection of small shops on Highway 92 just outside Half Moon Bay. They have a HUGE selection of backyard accoutrements—fountains, sprays, sculptures, benches, vases, stoves, urns, antique doors, etc. If this is what you are looking for and live in the San Francisco Bay Area, go there first!
The absolute best (and largest) assortment of outdoor garden art, fountains, spheres and plant containers ever. If the gigantic metal dinosaurs, Buddhas, and giraffes didn't get your attention from the roadway you might need to get your glasses checked!
The dinosaurs still attract you but what used to be a nice little area with several small shops now only has a couple of small shops and a large area with fountains, statues ect. for your yard. I really miss the old Spanish Town as some of my cooler "finds" were purchased there. I never used to pass it by. That isn't the case any longer.
No idea this was an attraction! The dinos are great - love looking at them, but you definitely want to make sure you aren't going during peak tourist season, or you'll never get into or leave the parking lot! If you do go, take a walk through the rest of Spanishtown and Fabbri's statues.
