I was going to Batavia and I found the Dwyer Stadium. I like going to minor league teams. The games aren't so crowded. The Batavia Muckdogs are. Pretty good team in the class A short season affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Dwyer Stadium has about 1,000 seats. If you are in Batavia go to Dwyer Stadium, home of the Batavia Muckdogs.
Love going to high school games here and Muckdogs games. Good family time, good selection at refreshment stand, clean restrooms.
Great to have a local baseball team in your backyard. The atmosphere is fun and the team always encourages crowd participation. This is a fun time for families and reasonable as well! We try to get at least a few games in during the season and since they have added fireworks -- it enhances the experience!!!
The stadium and the quality of the field really deserve a 3/5 (when compared with similar size stadiums of milb)... The field needs more attention and the stadium needs some TLC (fresh paint, new fence protectors, better sound system, etc.)...But for the show the Muckdogs put on, for the great local crowd, for the low price of the tickets and for the fun atmosphere, I add 1... so we get to 4/5.We will be back to cheer for the Muckdogs !
Nice stadium, not crowded at all. That is a shame because you never know where the next all star got his start. Food is great and not expensive. Bathrooms were very clean. Muckdog mascot went around to the all the seats. Kids loved that. Good inexpensive night out with family and enjoy a baseball game.
A great experience to enjoy minor league baseball in the NY Penn league; we felt the fans were great, and General Admission seats enabled us to sit less than 20 feet from the field.
I've been to over 50 ballparks and this is decidedly average in every way except one. If you go when the gates open, you are more than likely to get a ball. Older stadium nestled in a residential neighbourhood.
the good news is that the reprieves seem to continue for this classic little ballpark...word is that somebody will be transferred out of the league to the wilds of Morgantown, WVA, for 2015, and Batavia was on the short list, but for the moment it seems more likely that the axe will fall in Jamestown... nonetheless, do not delay visiting the Muckdogs in own pen... uh, B52 Brian, we are notoriously stingy but do NOT find the food offerings pricey...
If you want to see some great ball played go see the Muckdogs play ball. You are right there in the mists of the action. Talented ball plays. Great times had by all.
A great small town stadium. A small but engaged fan base, great for families. Food was pricy but good. Actually over the top activities between EVERY inning, a little distracting. Play ball!
