Nice casino on the water front. Great selection of new and older slot machines. Fun place to spend a few hours. Don't miss the buffet. Great selection and always leave room for the freshly made funnel cakes. Ask for the large ring for a great funnel cake.
We were told they had an excellent sea food buffet and decided to visit. The food was okay, the salad very good, our server very nice. We have been to the gulfport casinos and find them nicer and were disappointed in the Silver Slipper. Not that we are big gamblers but the tables were all filled, though there were others that could have been staffed. I would drive the extra 20 miles to go to the Gulf port casinos for a better experience.
Basic casino with hotel currently being built. They have groups from New Orleans several days a week and the facility gets quite busy. Many machines just have people sitting in front of them not playing because they are waiting to leave. Gets old fast asking people to move so you can play. Buffett is packed nightly so they must be doing something right. We did not use it but everyone I spoke with said it is the best one around.
After dumping our money into slots decided to try the buffet so we got in line behind a couple who stood there talking to employee before entering. As we stepped up the employee glanced at his watch and with a smirking glare informed us that it was 10:00 and the buffet was officially closed again after allowing his buddies access only seconds before. Needless to say I will never visit this casino ever again you can have it
Much to choose from. They could use some better qualified chef's. Some of the food I knew came out of a can. We did not over eat, the food was not worth doing that
We played the slots and weren't bothered by cigarette smoke. We try to stay away from places where that will be an issue. We won and lost, but had fun!
After several month's absence, we ventured back to the Slipper, in Clermont Harbor. Why the advertise as being in Bay Saint Louis I'll never quite understand since they are 8 miles down the beach from the Bay. Not too much has changed since our last visit. I still can't win there but their buffet is worth losing a few bucks! I'm convinced their salad bar is the best on the coast. They also seem to have improved the quality of the main food. They butterfly fried shrimp were delicious as were the ribs. They also added a few new items for a little more variety. We'll go back just because of the buffet!
I see on the website the prices have risen which is disappointing. For a while there they had it 12.99 for the jubilee buffet during weekdays. My favorite casino buffet on the coast, really went there to load up on the delicious crab legs. mmmmm
I have been to the Silver Slipper several times now and feel I can give an honest opinion. The casino is out of the way regardless of which way you come. Once you turn off the highway, the speed limit is ridiculously low and the road is very narrow. if coming from the west it is just as easy to go a bit further and go to The Hollywood. If you are coming from the east, there is no reason whatsoever for going the Silver Slipper. You will pass many casinos as good if not better on a east to west bound trip across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They are just about through with their new hotel and may be finished as I am writing this. They have good indoor parking and most of the time plenty of it. Their buffet is average but their are some comps to be had Monday through Thursday though it takes a good bit of play to get them. The personnel are nice and friendly and the buffet, though average for the coast, is good. Most of the coast's buffets in my opinion are pricey and nothing extra special but good. You can eat at other places on the coast for the same amount of money and get much better, even excellent food. Like most of the casinos on the coast, the SS has ventilation problem and it is so smoky smelling that it is almost unbearable. From the minute you set foot inside a door you will be overwhelmed. I like gambling at the SS and usually do OK which is more than I can say for some of the bigger casinos to the east. OK to me is not losing every time I go. Breaking even once in a while, and once in a great while maybe taking home a couple of dollars. I go to win but I also go for the entertainment of it. The reason I go here is I live relatively close to The Hollywood and The Silver Slipper. It is just as easy for me to go to either one. I go about once every two months and enjoy both places.
Me and my family decided to go eat at the king crab Buffett. The crab was delicious, but once we got home I puked it all up. This morning when we woke up, me and my sister were both nauseous and I puked again. My sister is still nauseous. I don't know if it was just a bad batch or not, but just a warning.
