This is a must see!! come during the summer and bring your family and a pic nic! Beautiful- clean- wonderful!
This is a beautiful lake. We used the state park day use area. The picnic tables are all in good locations. There is a rocky beach front, but the rocks are small and smooth, not jagged. The water is clear and very cool (68 degrees on our august day). There were people biking, hiking, boating, and just floating and swimming. We rented a paddle boat with our kids and had a great day. Bring a picnic and enjoy!
Love Swan Lake. Set in the Swan mountains and close to Glacier. Clear cold water, kayaking, canoeing, swimming. A nice little restaurant nearby. Nothing but nature. There is the Swan River across the lake, make sure you go up the river to see herons, eagles and all sorts of wildlife.Go in July and August when it is really warm.
A wonderful and recreational area that offers boating, fishing, swiming, camping, hiking, all in a beautiful wilderness area. A perfect place to stop and spend time on the way to, or from Glacier National Park nearby.
This place looks so common as you drive east out of Bigfork on Highway 83, but the food is uncommonly good. On some days there is a line waiting to be served, but we wait. They also have a patio in the summer. Breakfast is fantastic and lunch is the same!
Other than the water being very cold, visiting Swan Lake is a special week every year. We have friends from Missoula with us and we enjoy their company. Pretty area with lots to do in the surrounding area.
I love Swan lake! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and had a blast kayaking around the lake. Go there!
The scenery is great and the nearby mountains invite all kinds of activity. With Kalispell's airport and Glacier National Park not far away, what more could you ask for!
This is my FAVORITE lake in the valley, there is a very nice state park where you can load your boat or jet ski, or pack the cooler and head down to the swimming, picnic area. Rarely crowded, always clean, great facilities...very cold as are most of the lakes here. The kids and I go at least a dozen or more times every summer and you do not have to worry about swimmers itch here...if you don't know what I am talking about..look it up...it makes for a miserable 4 or 5 days after you get expose!
