Porec Old Town has everything you want from a Mediterranean Old Town! Beautiful marina/harbor, colorful architecture, shiny limestone cobblestones, many ice cream booths. Not so crowded in June.
Wonderful old town. Very compact (so easy to walk through) and having great atmosphere.Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants plus boutique hotels to enjoy.Only concern could be how crowded it can get during summertime high season.
The Old town in Porec has many historical sights and beauties. Just walk around and get lost in the little streets, don't worry it's not hard to find your way out. Also many good restorants can be found in there, like Bistro Niki or Konoba Aba offering from traditional croatian food like pljeskavica and cevapi, or delicious sea food.
We stopped there on our way to Sveti Lovrec for a wine tasting (Matosevic family).Beautiful port, nice walk in the old town and we admired the 6th century mosaics in the church. We can appreciate that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.In October there were very few tourists which made our visit enjoyable.
The old town is beautiful and worth a visit but be prepared for sudden downpours even in summer. Whilst your there the Basilica is also worth a visit. Also went to the towns tower bars and restaurants which were both great in the evening.
In the MARAFOR square are visible parts of the original square from Roman times. Also, the street raster is on the same time.
stairs are steap, bar at top more expensive than some others, but worth a one time. Nice atmosphere inside.
