Part of our tour of Pompeii included a wine tasting tour. We were picked up by Mercedes Benz driven by the charming and informative Pasquale and driven 15 minutes to this lovely vineyard. We were expecting a massive tasting session of 20 or more wines, but were delightfully surprised. We sat down to a delicious 4 course lunch, each organic and home grown in the vineyards, and loving cooked by the family. The wines were intelligently paired and beautifully matched to the fresh flavours of all the food. Maria Paola, the daughter of the owner took excellent care of us, showing us around the vineyards and proudly explaining that they have been in the family for 5 generations.Overall a lovely afternoon of fine wine, wonderful food which I would highly recommend to anyone in Naples.
We stopped here for lunch after a visit to Pompeii. My Husband and I were on a private tour and we were lucky to arrive before anyone else came for lunch. We received a private guided tour from MariaPaolo who was delightful. Her English was fantastic, much better than my Italian. It was nice to see the vineyards and learn how they farm the hill. It was neat to see the crops they planted in between the rows of grapevines. Then, on to lunch. We opted for the middle option, without the extra meat course, which was good because they brought so much food. The food was great, from their farm, organic, and delicious. Their own olive oil was superb. The service was friendly. Zio Antonio was a highlight. He was a gem. Very friendly. The wines they paired with the dishes were terrific. We had several. They kept refilling our glass and I'm glad we were not driving back! We ended up ordering 2 cases shipped home. The prices of the lunch and the wines were reasonable, especially considering the quality! I would return in a heartbeat. What a great place!
The four of us visited for lunch after touring the Amalfi Coast. Beautiful location and quaint family operated winery and restaurant. The food and wine were excellent and only exceeded by the hospitality of our hosts. What a great place for a casual lunch with fine wine and wonderful company.
Quaint, relaxing, friendly.Great scenery, food, drink. What more can I say other that it leaves you with the impression that it is somewhere we need to return to someday.
This winery was amazing - we went there after going up Mt Vesuvius, and it was perfect. The view was incredible, and the food and wine was perfect. The service was great, very personal with the wine and food explained to us. We also had a tour of the vineyard where they explained to us the benefits and problmes with having a vineyard on a volcano, and we tried out the grapes. It's family run, and gives a lovely homely feel but also very professional. We loved it! Grazie a tutti.. from 3 London students.
After a visit to the crater of Vesuvius, my family and I visited this wonderful vineyard for a tour, lunch, and wine tasting. Maria Paola is a wonderful, warm hostess who explained the cultivation of grapes in the winery, how the wine is produced and sold, and how the winery also cultivates vegetables and olives on its estate. This was followed by a fabulous lunch - beautiful fresh food, simply prepared with outstanding flavours. Each course was perfectly accompanied by a beautiful wine. The children in the party also enjoyed making friends with the owner of the vineyard despite the fact that he couldn't speak English! An unforgettable day, highly recommended!
We have just returned from a family (12 of us) holiday in Sorrento and now have time to look back. We had several memorable days but one that stands out was spent firstly driving / walking to the top of Vesuvius and then visiting the Sorrentino vineyard. This really was a great occassion. We were met by Maria Sorrentino who acted most graciously as our guide and hostess. She took us on a tour of the vineyard explaining in a most interesting way how the characteristics of different parts of the estate influenced different varieties of grape; how they make use of areas within the vineyard to produce vegetables; how the wine was produced and sold. This was followed by a superb lunch accompanied by 4 different (and delicious) wines. This really was a delightful visit that I would encourage visitors to the area to make.Needless to say we bought some cases of wine and olive oil - delivery to the UK was achieved within 7 days and now we have to opportunity of reliving the experience with glass in hand. Many thanks Maria.
Booked a visit to mount vs and a trip to this amazing vineyard after. The trip was booked via vesuviou tours and was brilliant and loads cheaper than booking with our holiday company we travelled with (booked night before online and paid via paypal) We arrived at the vineyard and had a gorgeous lunch followed by a tasting of 6 beautiful wines. The tour was great and Maria made us feel very welcome and she is extremely knowledgeable. The views are breathtaking and this trip definitely made our holiday! We bought 4 bottles of wine and I will be ordering a case to be delivered in the near future!!
We stopped by the vineyard after spending the day with our tour guide and driver at Pompeii. It was an amazing experience. The wine was delicious as well as the lunch they served. The atmosphere was cheerful and the view of Sorrento and the Bay of Naples was a beautiful sight. The owners were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. It is a place to visit.
We visited this beautiful place after a 4x4 trip to the top of Vesuvius. We had just got engaged at the top of the volcano so this was a great place to look around, taste the wines, with beautiful food and take in the scenery. Maria was a delightful host and made us feel so welcome. The wines we so tasty and we have ordered some to be delivered home too.
