Probably the best swamp tour we during our stay in Louisiana. The place is sanctuary for birds and gators and you can see lots of them. The guide was nice and informative.
I love the views and the birds and how close I got to a couple alligators in the wild and hated the mosquitoes.
Lake Martin has a nice little store, boat docks, wildlife, beautiful cypress and tupelo trees. It is a beautiful, relaxing place to visit. Turn on your gps because there are lots of turns to get to it.
Lake Martin is one of the most favored settings for photographers filming birds and animals in their natural environs. It is close to Lafayette and well worth the time to visit. All self guided.
Early evening is the very bedtime to go as all the birds are coming home to roost. The tour was very educational and the feeling of peace will stay with us forever
Explored the Swamplands in the Cajun Country and the Lake Martin area the one was of most interest. We took a boat out at sunset, the light was subdued and beautiful, the Cypress trees were magnificent, and the many birds and alligators were abundant.
Nature at its best. Sign up with Cajun Swamp Tours to really appreciate it! Butch will show you all the nature which is in this lake and the swamps he grew up in.
great experience.2 hours of magic. Very professional helmsman. We did a long 2 hours tour thru all different palces of the lake.5pm is a great departure time as you can admire sunset.Nothing I disliked!
Great place to see nature. It is not over-run with tourists and other people. They have boat tour operators, but you can often see roseate spoonbills and alligators from the road. Nice walking trail around lake
The Nature Conservancy has again saved a beautiful portion of the U.S.A. with its Cypress Island Preserve at Lake Martin Louisiana (near Breaux Bridge). Although the visitor center was not open, we enjoyed a walk on the dike trail, soaking up the beauty of the cypress trees and the dark and clear waters of the swamp, listening to the birds, seeing Louisiana at its finest. The short boardwalk trail is also a tranquil place. Too cold for gators and snakes, but delightful for enjoying nature at its finest.
