I am writing this because we went to an event, and it said on website to bring chairs. However, we got there 2 hours before music began and every table was being "saved" by placing one item on every table. We felt like that was wrong. The wine was ok..had better at another bullitt co, winery..we ordered a bottle of cold wine, it was not that cold .no cheese plates. you can purchase cheese and crackers , nothing special, can buy from krogers, no fun at all,, left before band started playing.
Not a bad place for a small winery. Owners seemed friendly and their winery dog, Lili, was even more friendly. A little out of the way, but a pleasant place.
Recently went to Brooks Hill Winery for a tasting flight with cheese tray. Tray had cheeses, crackers, hummus, pita chips, and black olives--was very tasty and filling. The wines were all very delish--the trend to the semi and sweet side--which I like. Favorites--Bailey's Blush, Rose of Sharon, Lilli's Red, Black and Blue. Tried Strawberry, but it just didn't quite suit me for some reason. They have music on their covered patio on Saturday evenings during the summer--didn't get to stay--will do so next time. Brooks Hill Road winds up the hill to the winery--don't speed or you'll drive right on by!
We love going alone or more often with friends and sitting under the shelter, listening and dancing to the entertainment. A variety of wines to taste and always finding several that I like and have to choose which one to drink there and take another home.
Have gone to a couple of weekend concerts there. Nice wines and a delightful way to spend the evening, bring a picnic basket and enjoy.
When travelling and in the area of Louisville take time to stop in at the Brooks Hill Winery in Brooks, KYWine is delish...wine tasting of 5 wines for $5...very reasonable...Tasted and purchased Sauvignon Blanc, Morning Sky, Riesling, Kentucky Tradition and Black and Blue (Blackberry &Blueberry). Bottle and glass prices competitive. Lovely couple hosting.Grounds very pretty. Definitely would go back.
I visited this winery with my mother-in-law during a recent trip to KY. They have two dogs on the property, Lilly and Lacy, who are both very sweet and enjoy greeting people. There is a $5 tasting fee which buys you several tastings. Their Rose of Sharon was really different. I would recommend going to this winery.
My fiance bought me a wine tasting on groupon for Valentine's day. The staff was incredible and the wine had the down home flavor you would expect from a Kentucky wine. The Kentucky Tradition and the Black and Blue are a must try!
Gail is a great hostess and very knowledgable about the wines and vineyard. There are a variety of wines to chose from for 5 tastings. The $5 fee is very reasonable especially when you give your glass. We were glad we were able to meet Mike, the owner. A very welcoming and relaxing winery. All the wines we sampled had good flavor. Would highly recommend a stop.
The wines are great, the staff and owners are helpful and friendly, and the winery dog is precious. We love getting together with friends in the warmer months to share some wine, food, and laughs while listening to music. It's also a fun place to visit for a tasting and to pick up a few extra bottles for the wine rack.
