Old beautiful piece of architecture in the center of Bucharest, on Victoria Street. It worth's going there for a few pictures as it really looks great! and is also very close to the Old Center where you can enjoy the bars and the cafe's opened day and night
On the famous, fashionable Calea Victoriei, this building is a landmark, a solid stately construction of stone, iron, bronze, marble, topped with a Rennaisasnce dome well seen from everywhere. A bank is located here now, but there is a longer history of this monument available in the main lobby, this one vast, hugely tall and richly ornate. The ground level height, one can see the old loggias, as pretty now as they're probably functional in the past. Well worth a look, a short visit.
This building just leaves me breathless every time! is like an old jewelery that reveals it's beauty over and over again! On Victoria Street, you can see it from the Old Center like a discreet and mysterious royalty. Just across the History Museum! Worth a visit!
Old building full of history, perfect for a photo ! Right in middle of the city, next to Old City Area.
even if the structure and the front of the building is quite old, this place is great exactly because of that.
The building is beautiful to behold, it's across from Old Town and from a museum. It's a quick stop to look at the building. It's actually a bank now.
I think it is one of the most beautiful palaces in old Bucharest (for sure in Top 20 for me). It was built in 1900 in eclectic style for the state owned CEC Bank, first public credit institution ever to be founded in Romania. You cannot park in front of it, but you can find a spot nearby. This way you can start a tour of the historical center from this point. The CEC Palace is also across the National Museum of Romanian History, itself housed in a great monumental building.
It looks like a palace or museum, but it's a bank. Look for theglass dome, try to visit it during the morning.
Is one of the places you don't want to miss if visit Bucharest!! The architecture have a "Paris perfume" and if you visit it in the morning is simply amaizing due to the sun which cover the entire construction. Highly recommended for holiday "photoshooting" :) is located few steps away from the best coffee place in Bucharest - Origo.
CEC Palace is in my opinion the mother of all historical buildings: huge, imposing, nice architecture and it's still in use. If you come across Calea Victoriei just make sure you won't miss a visit!
