Ålands, utan konkurrens, stiligaste byggnad. Färdig 1828, ritad av Carl Ludvig Engel som även är arkitekten bakom de nyklassicistiska kvarteren kring Senatstorget i Helsingfors. Att hitta detta ute på holme nästan mitt i ingenstans kan kännas lite överraskande, men platsen var faktiskt det ryska tsarimperiets absolut västligaste utpost under ett drygt sekel.Det har hållits trevliga konsthantverksutställningar i posthusets övervåning de senaste åren. I år är det tyvärr bara konst, för tyvärr måste jag säga tyvärr om den. Ett par av verken är riktigt bra, men samlingen och urvalet har en unken, korrekt svenskinspirerad tristess över sig. Konst ska vara originell, nyskapande, med öppen blick. Inte ängsligt hbqt-queer-alla-ska-vara-med-tycker-ni-om-oss-nu-snälla.Men strunta i det, njut av de verk som faktiskt är sevärda och framför allt av huset och utsikten!

Along the water, next to fisherman houses the Russian style post building stick out from the landscape. Now the building hosts museums (post museum and modern exhibitions), local chocolate factory that is delicious, souvenir shop and cafe place. Cafe place on weekends serves really nice brunch of local and ecological products.

Considering the location in an environment of traditional fishemans and rural wooden buildingsthis is an imposing structure to be viewed from the sea when approaching from Sweden.It was once built by the Czar of Russia to control mail and goods from Europe entering his domain.At the upper floor frequent displays are held showing among other things art and handicraft from the island of Åland. In the yard you can find a restaurant serving a buffet and homemade cookiesand furthermore Mercedes chocolaterie . Mercedes makes the most delicate sweets of different kinds. Look out for the sign Amorina. Peter is displaying some of his ceramic art there too. A few steps outside there is a small creek where you can take a swim. Access over the cliffs to a ladder .
