It is a great place to visit in special in the summer. So you can take a walk, sit to a pub and drink a coffee, or just enjoy the view. You can also find souvenir shops.
If you have been before in any Central European city on Christmas, you would not find lots of special, but if you like the atmosphere - it's definitely the place to visit. Brightly illuminated Christmas tree, nice carousel for kids, mulled wine, local street food from many different kiosks and so on. Especially I would recommend freshly baked kalach, delicious, same as Czech trdelnik!
Brasov is a lovely town and this is a nice enough square with plenty of little restaurants and cafes. Certainly a lovely little place to while away a couple of hours and have a bit of lunch.
This huge square was really a surprise, it could have been in Prague or Vienna. Many cafes in one end, where you both can eat or just have a coffee looking at people. At the other end the huge Black Church and in the middle a big tower.
You must visit the old center of Brasov with its wonderful open square, historic black Church and remains of the old wall! Wonderfully decorated at Christmas time!
I was surprised to find such a lovely wide open square in the town of Brasov, if you are wandering around you can't miss it as it is right next to the Black church and city hall. Lots of places to eat and sit down and relax, lots of older different buildings to look at as well, can't go wrong.
Amazing town, where you can find medieval buildings at every step. The square is really nice and the Black Church is really close and also some of the museums. At night you can see the towns name on the hill,Hollywood style.Nice restaurants and pubs all around the square.
it was a very nice atmosphere and Brasov is one of my favorite cities in Romania. this square is a a good place for starting your journey through Brasov; there are delicious coffee shops, pastry shops and of course KFC and McDonalds. this season they decorated the place really wonderful, plenty of little shops decorated like houses where you could buy hot wine and traditional sweets. this is the Romanian atmosphere I am used to!
Nice place to take fresh air and drink coffee in one of the terasa in middle of the city called old town. You can catch concerts also for special occaisons time to time.
It is the heart of the old historic walled city at the foot of the impressive Tampa Mountain. It is surrounded by many historical buildings. There is something to do for everyone. There are several museums around, the famous Black Church, book shops, good restaurants, many other shops. The main shopping street of Brasov (Strada Republicii) starts from here too. The Reduta Cultural Center is just around the corner. In summer there are many restaurant terraces around the square. In winter this is the place where the big Christmas Tree is installed. There is some market every week, mostly with traditional (slow) food products. In many weekends, open air concerts take place here with different kinds of music, from classical and Romanian folklore to rock and pop.
