We actually did the super safari (can't find it on her) but it was great. We were a little apprehensive at first when we were told we'd have our own team and mentioned some of the incidents that might happen, but it was great fun. The dogs were reasonably well behave (apart from the one in the middle who didn't want to stop!). It was a fantastic experience with warm berry juice and home made biscuits in the kota afterwards :-)
We had a short lesson in how to control the braking of the sled and to stop if necessary. Then suddenly we were streaking round and across a frozen lake and through the woods. Amazing experience.
This was a first for a husky ride and it was so special, the only down side was it did not last longer. When the huskies are all harnessed up they just cant wait to go and seem so excited, and once they are released the don't hang about. the largest size of sleigh I saw was pulling three adults and one child without seemingly no effort.
I loved seeing and experiencing the Husky ride, it was just enough. You get to have a warm drink and a biscuit after.
I'm so glad we done the super husky rather then the mini. Was very cold so wrap up warm specially if it's snowing. But magical. Ps make sure if you want a go of pushing the huskies you do it first as half way when you swap over there is a huge hill you have to push up which is not great when you have your 16st hubby sitting and two children lol xx
Ingham should really tell their customers especially with small children to do the shorter trip. Everyone on our super safari was frozen to the core with no blankets provided to those in the sledges. The children were crying because of the cold and parents were feeling guilty. It was -35 the evening we did this trip wrapped up but it was too long. My husband drove the sledge and he loved every minute!! But i was glad to get back to the fire along with all the other parents defrosting their children!
We actually done the super husky safari (can't find it on here to review) transfer to the place was quick when we arrived we were greeted by the noise of the dogs and a very friendly helpful owner who was extremely knowledgable of all the dogs. Feeling slighting nervous about driving the sledge this was soon taken away by the owners relaxed atmosphere. Dogs were very friendly and well behaved. Highly recommend the super safari time of the trip was fantastic not to long but enough to walk away with a trip you will never forget! It's a must do when visiting lapland. A warm fire home made cookies and hot juice was also supplied. All in all a great experience.
The mini husky ride was enough but the waiting whilst the others did the super husky ride was a long time, the hut we waited in was very smoky. There was hot juice and biscuits We had a good full introduction and safety information talk to driving the Huskys but we didnt get to meet any of the smaller dogs close up! There were some in a cage we could look at but did not get any information as to why there were there! We went around the grounds and took photos whilst we waited! The" Huskys" were not "Huskys as we know them as "Huskys " in Finnish is Working dogs so they were dogs!!!Good fun though after a long wait!
Brilliant. But too short. We went actually on the husky sledge for approx 10mins. We spent more time in a hut drinking warm berry juice which was nice but it would have been nice to spend longer on the ride.
Went on the super safari which I really enjoyed. The only thing I would say is bring your own shawl to sit on as the one provided on the sleigh smells a bit like wet dog however I guess that can't be helped. The experience was amazing and I would defiantly recommend this to anyone. The staff were lovely and very friendly, the huskies are very outdoor dogs and I would ask the staff before clapping them, some looked friendlier than others. I had the pleasure of clapping one and it was nice to see the pups.
