There are far too many good things to say about IU for the space allotted here. The architecture is amazing. The grounds are well-maintained. World-class performers in the arts, sports, and business have attended this educational institution that is so dear to my heart. When you visit, please take time to walk all around campus. And don't forget to stop in Sugar & Spice in the IMU (student union building) for a gingerdude :)
IU Bloomington is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country! It's large, diverse and the grounds are stunning!
My son loves Kelley Business School and IU. We pay out of state tuition but its worth it. Kelley is ranked 8th in the country. He already has a great internship with a Fortune 500 company.
The tree covered campus sits on the rolling hills of southern Indiana. While bisected by a number of roads it is primarily a pedestrian campus where biking is encouraged. The campus and the city blends together with blurred boundaries. The 4th street/Kirkwood food choices are as varied as any large city featuring nearly any ethnic cusine one might have a taste for.
Having visited many campuses during college visits, this is one of the nicest campuses I have seen! You would not think it was a large public university walking around and seeing how well the campus is maintained. We now have a son who attends here and love coming back to visit. The campus is very wooded and is especially beautiful in the fall and the spring. We have been very pleased with the Kelley School of Business.
Attended the Beach Boys concert at the auditorium. It is a nice venue. The parking is mostly pretty far away with shuttles provided. There is limited handicapped parking nearby. I recommend reading the parking page on their website to be prepared. There is very limited snacks available (chips, cookies).
Kelley School of business was very neat to see. They had tours and the students were as happy and proud of their school as you could imagine.
This campus gives you the feeling of being happy. Everyone seemed very nice and the presentations were well done. The campus is beautiful, even in the middle of winter. We stayed on campus at the Biddle, and easily walked to a great dinner and breakfast. Very walkable campus, and wonderful college town!
I took my daughter to an audition on campus, and I found the campus to be delightful. It felt like what a university campus should fee like. People were very friendly and helpful. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide a street address for visitors since it was quite difficult to obtain directions to the Musical Arts Center; my GPS didn't find it, and the clerk at my hotel wasn't too sure where the MAC was either.
I was actually very surprised at how beautiful this campus was. I have visited many schools, and this has to be the nicest large midwestern campus I have seen. Walk around campus and enjoy the many events taking place outside in warm weather. Safe and clean...this sets IU apart from other great schools too close to large cities.
