Heard a lot about Cameron Trading Post so we stopped on the way to Grand Canyon. If you're looking for a gift to take home, they've got it. Very interesting. What I really came for is the Navaho fry bread. The restaurant serves a Navaho fry bread taco that's just wonderful. There is no way one could eat of this taco, but my wife and I ate all the fry bread. Hard to explain how delicious the fry bread was.
The Trading Post is stuffed full of all types of Navajo items; jewelry, small carvings, rugs. Plenty of touristy items for everyones' tastes. The restaurant has a large selection and great views. However - if you want really good Navajo art, jewelry, etc. you must go to a separate building with a sign just saying - GALLERY. It has wonderful pieces from noted Indian artisans; jewelry, alabaster carvings, etc. Prices are high as expected for the quality pieces but fairly priced.
Not really a trading post more of gift shop on steroids, but they certainly have a massive range and cater to all budgets. It may pay to do some research before hand, but it depends on what you are looking for, it's going to cost you if you want the authentic stuff. The gallery is worth looking at even if you aren't going to by anything. Picked up a very nice road runner fetish as i hadn't seen many. Did have a restaurant out the back but I didn't go in apparently they do a pretty good frybread with cinnamon. Worth a stop to have a look at the range and stretch the legs.
Stopped for lunch after leaving the Grand Canyon and was thrilled to find an Indian pawn/art gallery along with a hotel and very good restaurant. Plan to spend a couple hours here. The food was good and we loved our server Teresa! Very attentive and friendly. This is the charm I came west for. An all around great stop!
We stopped here based on reviews from Trip Adivsor and weren't disappointed! Wonderful store, great selection and super staff. Very nice and helpful!
We stopped in for lunch, which was a perfect spot, located about half way between Page and G.C. South Rim. Had a very nice lunch in a very pretty building. The Trading Post has many, many nice things and is huge!
Giant shop - lots of native crafts, and some not.Nice selection of rocks. Lots of gorgeous jewelry. Raku. Pottery.
You can't miss this place with the multiple bright yellow signs along Route 89. This trading post is HUGE. It has everything including T-shirts, pottery, jewelry, rugs, blankets, purses, belts, geodes, lotions, dream catchers, Christmas ornaments, and whatever else you may find. The prices are reasonable, depending on what you are buying and who made it. Navajo made items are clearly marked. If you want to get all of your souvenir shopping done in one place, do it here!
The Cameron Trading post is a stop on the way to the Grand Canyon, and is worth a look around at the many native arts and crafts. As other reviews note, the quality ranges from very good to standard souvenir fare, so be aware of what you are looking at and you will do fine. If in the market for fine jewelry, the prices here are in line with many of the nicer shops in Sedona, an they have some unique things. One of the lovely native artists, Calvin Begay, has some wonderful jewelry here, and it can be pricey. In addition to a HUGE shop containing jewelry, rattles, kachinas, art and food there is a restaurant and hotel. Plan to spend at least 30 minutes. Bathrooms are clean.
Massive trading post for road trip supplies, Navajo produced gifts and other gifts! We also visited the restaurant and was surprised by a large selection that we could all find something we fancied from.
