A former summer residence of a great Italian film director Luchino Visconti this palatial villa is a true masterpiece of a 19th century grandeur.
We read about this villa and had to go to see it.Wow what a building, magnificent rooms, tradition and heritage.Fantastic views if the Lake and easy access from the town centre
The Visconti lived here and the villa is absolutely breathtakening. A visit is a must, ask the hotel to manage it, since it is not open to the public. The view on the lake from the master's bedroom is a dream sight
Piatti all'altezza della situazione. Servizio impeccabile.Location bellissima. Prezzi alti,ma...Una volta tanto giustificati
We attended a conference in this venue and this is the best conferencr venue I have ever been to. Aside from the great content of the conference, the highlight for me was the social dinner inside Villa Erba 'mansion'. The setting was amazing, felt like back in time. The food was thoroughly enjoyable- Buffets consist of three sections with food/ produce from North, Mid and South Italy with wines from the three regions as well. I was so impressed and am totally in love with wine and dine of Italy!
A great location on the magnificent Lake of Come....small wonder that an aesthete like Luchino Visconti bought it and made it his private residence for a while.
What an amazing location to hold a meeting or wedding. It is gorgeous! I attended a wedding and was impressed by the beauty of this location.
Villa Erba was the site of the conference which brought us to Cernobbio. There is a Convention Center on the grounds and a lovely Villa where social events are held. I do not think it was open to the public during that week.
Whether you see this from the Ferry, private boat, on foot....Villa Erba is truly one of the Grand Old Homes of Lake Como. Used now for conventions and private events, they have their act totally together - using boats to Ferry direct from Como and lots of parking. It is not open to the public but I have experienced it on foot one day when the gardens were open and free. We just attended the Flower Show where they used the home as a pop-up restaurant. I have yet to see the private areas but I'm working on that.If you are planning to attend a convention, you can stay in Cernobbio, which is completely walking distance (remember that I'm a New Yorker) or you can Ferry in from Como, Argegno, etc. If this is not open to you when you visit - please consider going further North on the Lake to Villa Carlotta. And if you have time, head by boat or car to Villa Balbianello. Villa Olmo, in Como, is another wonderful space used often for conventions, exhibits and private events.
Attended a business meeting in here two years in a row. The addition of an extensive business complex does not detract from what is a beautiful original Italian villa set on the lake. The grounds are extensive and well kept, the views stunning.
