Venturing around the Clearwater and Tampa area, we saw signs for this attraction and decided to give it a try after being a bit bummed about the rainy weather. The wait was a bit long, as one of the computers had experienced some issues, but once it was back up and running, the line moved a little more quickly. We didn't have to wait much longer for our change to get out into the race area, get our helmets and go through a mini course on safety and how to handle the go-karts. A little expensive, but also kind of worth it. We paid for the first tier of the package, which I believe was the 16 laps per person. Overall, it was almost $50 per couple. We considered purchasing another round after we finished, because it was pretty fun, but will be saving up to come back on another rainy day during our next vacation. I think the crew was pretty helpful, and the concept of the flags/slowing down to allow others to pass was fair. Our group did really well and rarely needed any correction from the person manning the flags. The group before us didn't seem to understand, or maybe didn't care, because they had the slow-down flag several times and we noticed several small accidents. Overall, this was pretty safe if you can handle the go kart well. I will mention, that for pretty tall people (my spouse is 6'3''), the ride is going to be a little cramped. Wonder if there's any way to fix that in the future? Also, we saw one of the larger folks in our group get asked to leave the course because he was too tall, and also a bit heavy, to ride. Unfortunately, he couldn't safely fit into the go kart. Thought I would mention that for safety and comfort for future customers.
These are some pretty fast go carts! They have helmets and clean face protectors for each racer, also slower carts for kids.
Amazing what these drivers can do with these cars. Fast paced, yet they appear to be safe. Had a great time!
6 friends and I heard that this was the REAL DEAL indoor cart racing experience. So while on vacation in Clearwater Beach we headed on over to the Clearwater location (there is also on in Tampa).Rather than doing the open race, we opted for a Grand Prix, which meant it would be a private experience for just our group. Our group included 6 college buddies all 40 or "damn near 40," and one of our wives.2 heats for qualifying and to get acclimated to the speed and controls, and then the big event.Would you believe the wife came in third!!! And I'm telling you this was a TOUGH group! :)We had an incredible time and this was one of the highlights of the trip.Cost was about $50 each for a total of about 45 laps over 3 races. Well worth it.
It was raining one day during our trip to Clearwater Beach, so we headed to the track. They had a great weekday lunch special. All 4 of our kids(ages 6-14) plus my husband got to race at the same time. They did 16 lap races. Everyone had a blast.
Been here with my wife and 2 kids and really had a great time, the electric race cars are so pleasant to ride. very nice and professional staff. We had a great family time and will go back.
The staff is young with little to no experience dealing with the public. They did NOTHING to assist in hosting the party. Not even a smile could be found amongst the several teenagers running the place. If you are considering having a party here I would recommend having it elsewhere. Hint to management: Get some young adults who are personable to run your business while you are absent. You lost a HUGE opportunity to book more parties. Several people commented that something was missing for the price that was paid.
So we traveled 30 min to get here and then when we got there it had said " sorry we are closed , due to a private session" the session was for 2 hours !!! We wasted 1 hour of our time to drive down here, I'm very disappointed, don't waste your time, and also all this information that we had received when we got there, was NOT on the website, this needs to be a update! Or something!
SPEEDSTERI’ve never felt tempted to rocket past 70mph signs but I had a great time here. I don’t think I ever hit 50mph as the signs claim (the paths are too windy) but it sure FELT like I was flying. I was bumped several times by other carts and even tapped the corner of the rails—I barely felt it at all. Very safe. You get 16 laps during your session and it felt like an appropriate distance to get the best time. I get dizzy easily and I never felt like I was trapped on a hamster wheel. LADIES don’t wear skirts. And shorter people (like me) may need to point their feet more to press the gas.LISTEN TO THE PEOPLEThe young ladies behind the counter were very polite and accommodating for newbies. After talking us into getting the “buy two races get a 3rd free” deal (still pricey but a race by itself is around $45 already!) and filling out the waiver forms, we were given a card and directed to the track. The guy instructing us on putting on the head sock, grabbing a helmet, and instructing on the different flags’ meaning rushed through his spiel in a recitation robotic, unenthusiastic manner. Between the counter ladies and the track directors there were no other staff interaction.WHAT ELSE TO DO?Luckily I’ve showed up when the crowds were light so waiting for a race to end and my turn to begin has been short. (There’s only one track for about 10 racers at a time) But as others have mentioned, there’s a handful of arcade machines while you wait—c’mon. Arcade machines? How about a case of model race cars? Or a big one to take pictures against? Or decks of cards for quick games? Its location in an industrial area doesn’t put many interesting neighbors or restaurants nearby either. Luckily, even though the garage doors are open to let sunlight and air through, I haven’t been exhausted by Florida’s humidity.
Had a a blast riding these electric karts!! The staff was very friendly and helpful to new drivers like myself. The karts were fast! The facility was clean!! And the pricing was reasonable! I would most defiantly go back, I highly recommend!!!
