St. Croix Water sports has a wonderful assortment of water activities to do. Michelle and her boys were very accommodating and helpful. The snorkeling is amazing and to be able to swim with turtles, sting rays, star fish, etc.
Protestant Cay is also known as Hotel on the Cay because there is a hotel. It is a $5.00 cash round trip, one minute ride, from Christiansted, between the boardwalk and the Fort. There is shadow under the trees. They also rent umbrellas for $10.00 and lounge chairs for $5.00. The beach is nice and the water is calm, clear Caribbean color, sandy bottom, with a good view of town and the boats that are moored there. There is a restaurant and a restroom.
Lovely little Cay just off Christiansted Harbor - Beach is beautiful & the snorkeling around the Cay is very, very good.
We stayed at the hotel here and thought the vibe was nice. Very small island. Great view of the fort and town.
This beach is so much for kids and adults. Rent a jet ski or just have a great lunch. They will deliver a bucket of beer on ice right to your beach chair!
We visited this beach with four other couples from our ship and had a great time. Round trip cab available but had to wait until it was full for the return trip to the ship. The beach on one side required beach shoes but the other side did not. Chairs were available for $20 for two and we were able to get a shady spotThe food at the restaurant was good as was the service.Good beach for cruisers
We didn't stay at the hotel but did visit the beach for a couple hours. The beach was clean, easy to get to, not crowded, had food/drinks to buy and bathrooms. The water was crystal clear and a great view of the boats in the harbor.
Protestant Cay is a beautiful beach and the hotel was at one time very special. I owned a time share there years ago so I am familiar with the property. I took my friends there because the beach is so lovely, however, we could only stay a short time. The reason: Loud, shrieking voice over the intercom announcing crab races. Truly shrieking! We asked the staff if they could lower the sound and we were told by a lovely woman who was embarrassed by the racket that she tried because so many people had complained. The "voice" would not listen to our request. We wanted to make reservations to stay at the Hotel however we all agreed--NEVER with all that shrieking. So we headed back to the Buccaneer and enjoyed a beautiful beach peaceful and friendly. Ahhh.
Food is clean and good and the show is fun. Nothing to write home about but taking the water taxi and enjoying the show was great both times I went. It's a great place to view sunsets also. Marina is such a lovely old-timer. Some things just have to be experienced. Decent food and decent prices at the Tuesday night buffet and show. Just go.
Loved it All!!!! See my Review on Trip Advisor. Beautiful Private Island with an Old Hotel....in Christiansted Harbor. all amenities are great!!!
