Everything was perfect, including the winnings. Well worth the trip off of the Interstate. Been there before.
The smoke in the bingo, casino, and hotel areas is very intense and unhealthy, even for smokers! It saturates ones hair and clothing, requiring immediate showering when getting home. Clothes have to be left in the garage to air-out. We left an e-mail and a voice mail for the casino General Manager about this abhorrent environment and if they are planning on correcting it, but no one has responded. This indicates a callous and unprofessional management team that is indiffent to their customers. Shame on them! The rooms are not bad, but the smoke odors are a major problem. The food in all of the venues is mediocre, at best.
The buffet is worth the $7.77! It's clean and the service is great! The Dinner House offers specials that are pretty good! Makes sure to sign up for the email notifications so that you know what's happening.
The casino is fine, and the restaurants really have very nice fare. The really nice part is the Hotal. The lobby is really beautiful, as well as the rooms, and very reasonable for the comfort and spaciousness It is a real bargain..
We stayed a night at the Colusa Casino but didn't do much gambling. For what we did, we found the casino floor to be exceptionally clean and mostly smoke-free, which is kind of a big deal to us these days. Fun games, too. We sampled the buffet on crab/seafood night, and it was good. Not wonderful, but at least worth the price. It was also very crowded, so the locals must like it. We spent one night in the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable, with -- for some reason -- oversized and ornate bedroom furniture, and a bathroom big enough to throw a bar mitzvah in. NO -- I kid. It did seem larger than its stated purpose. Nevertheless, if you like a bit of casino with your overnight stay, you could do worse than the Colusa Casino and hotel.
We ended up in Colusa for another event and were pleasantly surprised by the Colusa Hotel and Casino. The rooms were clean and updated. The casino was bigger then we expected. The staff overall was friendly and helpful. It's not Vegas but it was fun. I thought the slots were tight!
I can't say I'm thrilled.. the food was disappointing, most the gambling machines were not very clean.. sticking substances and ashes. the ladies room is kept very neat and clean. It seems every time they start another construction project the gambling gets a bit "tighter". The only plus is that it is very close to Colusa. I haven't stayed at the hotel, but was told by a guest it was also disappointing.
Joined their Rewards Club, got $80.00 in free play by a lucky spin and $5.00 off of their Buffet! Good start, took away more money than the free play and the Buffet was really good. Bread pudding absolutely yummy!Everyone was so friendly and warm, made me feel like they really appreciate their customers. Amazing how infectious smiles are!Only reason for the 4 rating is because they are not a large fancy Casino, which really is in their favor. Wish the Indian Casinos in Southern California would take lessons from this Casino!
As far a casinos go, it's smallish and reminds me of Feather Falls and Gold Country as far as the variety of machines, games, etc. I hate to say it's out in the middle of nowhere, but it is out in flat agricultural land. We ate the Sunday brunch, played machines for a couple of hours and left. The front of the lodge part of the casino was undergoing a facelift, so it has somewhat of a construction site look to it in the front. If you're in this area, it's worth a stop to check it out. I doubt if I would drive for more than a hour to get to it, though.
We stopped here for lunch and were very surprised that it was not your typical smoke filled casino. It was quiet compared to the Las Vegas casinos. We ate in the cafe and had a Mexican dish and a bowl of their home made chile. Very nice. There are many wildlife refuge's in the area to see.
