Try to visit several times a year. Food is great and the gardens are so pretty. Did'nt get to visit the winery hope hope next time.
Well our visit n purchase was awesome HOWEVER we r no avid wine drinkers so slmist one year later we decide to make the drink that was shown to us by the girls. Unbeknownst to us we had no directions n could not remember ingredients. To shorten story DO not CALL FOR THEM because they refuse to give it to you sheesh some customer service I wonder if I can return the wine since I will not drink plain?
As I passed field of corn...much higher than your knee n the 4th of July...I was delighted upon approach with STREAM CLIFF HERB FARM AND WINERY!! Loved the vintage gardens, country store and tea room. Nursery goods for sale were lush. The winery and party facilities looked great. I can see that this will be an annual day trip in the future.
We stopped off for lunch last May on our way to visit family. Such a delight! We enjoyed the daily special for lunch - which was superb. We toured the winery and took a couple of bottles with us. We bought several plants at the nursery. The red velvet begonia was beautiful all summer (and unavailable locally). It was a lovely afternoon - this location has so much to offer. Wish we could visit more often - but will definitely stop again when we are back in the area. Highly recommend!
We were traveling from Madison, Indiana back to Ohio from a weekend getaway and had read about this farm and winery and decided to stop. It is a nice drive from town and well worth the visit! It opened at noon on Sunday and cars were already lined up. The lunch was wonderful. We had salads, breads, and the blackberry cobbler. Yum! Everything is handmade from their own ingredients. The gardens are absolutely stunning and the wine tasting wonderful! Well worth the visit!
We traveled to the winery for birthday fun and something different to do. It was a rainy day but we were bound and determined to enjoy it with or without the sun. When we arrived we looked around at the different areas of the farm/winery. It was set up nicely and had a cute restaurant available if you wished. The winery had a tasting room which we visited to pick out a wine of choice for our Hayride that we had scheduled. Our server, Hope, was extremely sweet and helpful during that time. I have to say this, had it not been for the other server I would give this place a 5 on the scores. She(Missy) was very rude to the couple who came up beside us. Did not smile and made poor judgement in her choice words and delivery to these people. We witnessed this on our return from the Hayride with other patrons in the tasting room as well. Had we had her as our server we would have definitely not bought 4 bottles of wine from the farm. Getting back to the rain and the ride: The owners made sure that we had a wonderful time. The sun broke for about 2hrs allowing us to enjoy all that was prepared for the event. Outstanding job by all but one. They made sure we had umbrellas if we were without and wine while we waited for the break in the weather. Excellent foods provided for the creek side stop. Loved the wines and herb bread! I would most definitely recommend this farm/winery to others for a day trip. Loved it! It is only about a half hour drive from Madison and maybe a 2hr drive from Indy. I am sure it is a beautiful drive right now. Thank you Stream Cliff Herb Farm and Winery!
Met friends from Kentucky half way for lunch. Loved the venue - atmosphere was great. My wife had potato soup & liked it. I had ham & cheese panini. Ham was extremely fatty & lower platen on panini press must have been broken since only top was grilled. Dave had pasta special & said it was OK. Sue had pulled pork BBQ & reported it was dry & seemed to have been sitting for a while. Dill slaw was soupy with sauce & too sweet. My wife & I had the blackberry cobbler - soupy & thin. Service was very slow with a very long wait between order & service. We picked the place from reviews on TA & I really wanted to like it, but alas, the proof is in the pudding & in this case, it fell well short of expectations. I will not return & cannot recommend this place.
We celebrated my dad's birthday this weekend at Stream Cliff Herb's seasonal Candlelight dinner and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the new dining area in the winery was beautiful and cozy. Mrs. Manning even gave my dad a complimentary glass of wine since it was his birthday. A really nice way to spend a winter evening.
Let me start with the food is really good. But, it is NOT worth waiting 50 minutes for. I finally asked for the manager when I could get someones attention, just "sorry". Really, for a 50 minute wait? The waitress was just rude like 50 minutes was ok and I should be happy I was getting food. So, no reasons? Nothing? Sad. Others came in after us and still had their food, were done and were out the door before us. All we ordered were sandwiches, nothing of any difficulty. I thought we had found a cute little place for a Sunday drive, but I have no desire to go back after today.
Everything is excellent at Stream Cliff -- beautiful flowers and landscape -- great setting for restaurant -- delicious and unique food -- great wine -- wonderful host and hostesses. Not a thing to complain about.
