Golf rates were low for the fine facility. A good layout, Crenshaw & Coore design, so you know the bunkering is very good. It cycles back tot he clubhouse at hole #6, #9, and #15, so plenty of time to get drinks or food. A good clubhouse with fireplace, very comfortable chairs, and a Notre Dame Pro Shop for merchandise. The food was a surprise (pleasant) and when you go through the cafeteria-type line, it moves fast and you can get back to the course quickly.
Course has great layout and was in wonderful shape. Reasonable practice facilities and grill. GPS on carts. Challenging, but worth the price. Better than the other courses in the area we also played.
If you like a chaLonging links style course designed by one of the best teams in the business, try out The Warren. In superb condition. Fast and true greens, spacious fairways, and murderous bunkers that not only protect the greens, they make you pay if your ball lands in one of them. The staff is absolutely first rate and the grill has some delicious sandwiches. Super practice area. A must play if you are in South Bend.
Very well maintained, challenging but fair. Very friendly staff, excellent practice area and driving range. Affordable rates.
This course proved to be tremendously challenging for me. I'm not a great golfer, but had more problems than usual on this beautiful course!
real good course. Difficult course real good test of golf greens very fast from tee to 150 pole pretty open narrow to green from from there gets very busyand slow play on football weekends
Tough course, beautifully maintained, holes are gorgeous, especially towards the end. Greens are very quick and the hazards really do make you pay for your mistakes.I would give it 5 stars, except for no beverage cart. So strange. And the staff in the cafeteria part wasn't the nicest. Otherwise the pro shop, rangers, and starter are all top notch. The range is beautiful, and the pitch and putt area is beautiful. The fees are reasonable, except on football weekends when they basically can charge whatever they want, and people will play. (I don't blame them.) Otherwise, especially as an alum, you pay a mild-moderate price for a tremendous course. I plan on playing every time I'm in SB.
We played this tract many times when it was new, but now it has matured and is very beautiful. This course gets a lot of play but is still in pristine condition. The greens, fairways and tees are outstanding. Pace of play has been a problem here in the past. We were the first to tee off and finished in three hours so we did not encounter any delays nor any rangers. The starter was confrontational because we were planning on playing fast and he wanted to pair us up. We never encountered this attitude normally. The GPS is very different as they have multiple commercialson the GPS screen. This does distract from the overall experience. We have our own wrist Garmin so we didn't use the cart GPS a lot. The pro shop is fully stocked and there is a snack bar. This is a beautiful operation and should not be missed.
The course is not very old, but you would never know it. Well designed and maintained. I have played many courses in this price range - $50, and this was by far the best. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We can't wait to go back!
Groomed, challenging, well landscaped. Nice club house. Good driving range for practice before your round.
