This water park is hidden in a beautifully wooded park in Coon Rapids. It is fun for families with things for all ages to do. i recommend going early 11:00 to beat the rush or at 4:00 for the cheaper rate (quieter also). There are coupons in the entertainment book and various online locations. You will need to purchase a park sticker unless you park North of the park (Lion's Park located at the North entrance) a good 10 minute hike. Great wave pool, kiddy pool, lazy river and water slides. Also sand area for kids. Bring your own water and purchase an ice cup to save more.
We had a great time with an 11 and 7 year old girl. However in Lazy River the pushing & shoving of some preteen boys got out of hand.My daughter & I both said somethinng to them as did other adults. The guards***NOTHING*** Also in the wave pool which was very crowded, obviously a child holding onto the tube of her parent is not OK but considered 2 on a tube. They were taking turns pulling each other past the breakers Lifeguard blew whistle at them although we spotted many pairs doing the same It is a crazy mess of bodies but it seemed rule depended on mood of guard. Try the even hour tube rental time for an hour, then go back again the next even hour rather than the odd hour which locks you into a 2 hour rental...do other things in betweenWe got to the top of the tube slide and were told no yelloew tubes,so instead of tossing it over the side I carried it back down..a SIGN would have be welcomed,. Bathrooms and grounds needed attenttion but not many staffers to do it. Outside food not permitted but no one seems to object.if you are descreet..but then PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF! Ice cream is reasonable $3 for a good size cone,All that being said we had a great time!!!!Would like better and consistent enforcement of the rules especially on days when there are busses of unsupervised kids.
Very family friendly and great addition to the north metro area!Terrific activities for all ages, and we took advantage of all
We arrived after driving from Winnipeg just at 4 pm to get the cheaper rate and we used a coupon I printed on line. We also got a locker for our stuff, so for the 4 of us and locker it cost $35. We actually had a lot of fun after being cooped up for so long. Our 3 year old liked the sand park, climbing structure and the lazy river once we got him on a tube with me. My oldest and I went in the wave pool which is quite large. Maximum capacity is 800! I'm glad there less people there. It was stiff pretty full once the waves started. I loved the lazy river. It was just nice to float around as it was so large. We didn't spend too long there, but just enough time to leave happy and refreshed. I would go back again on a Sunday after 4 again.
We visited Bunker Beach with our 3 children, ages 12, 6 and 6. This place is amazing - well staffed and very organized. The kids loved the wave pool, and lazy river cannot be beat. Go on a weekday - the weekends can get crazy busy!!
We started by camping at Bunker Beach which is a great camping spot. Then we decided to go to the Water park. They have some great water slides, and even a lazy river. Very enjoyable.
you have to rent an inner tube twice if you stay longer than your sessions. Each person should have their own timed sessions. The park is safe and clean, however, the concession stand food is borderline terrible.
It is a lot of fun, it is a little expensive. You will need to pay to get into the park unless you have a pass. There are picnic benches in the parking lot if you want to bring food.
A great way to spend a beautiful day with family and friends. Lots to do for all ages. Food is good but you can bring a picnic lunch if you like, you need to go out of the water park but the tables are not far at all. The Lazy River is so much fun....relaxing. Bunker Beach It is my new favorite place to go. Give it a try. Great Ice Cream treats also.
Large area and something for everyone. Water slides and lazy river . Nice you are able to bring a lunch and go to the car and eat it and then go back in, keeping the cost down
