This zipline tour had some awesome views and fast lines. Staff was courteous and fun. Our group really enjoyed the speed and length of the zips here. It is in the woods, so bring your bugspray!
I had been zip lining in other countries and did not know what to expect when going to this very small town in Minnesota. I have to say, I was amazed at the variety of the 14 zip lines they had, the quality of the gear, the staff, and overall experience. OUTSTANDING experience and so much fun for our family. I will definitely be back!
I bought my husband the Kerfoot Canopy Tour as a birthday present. We took the trip in September 2014. It was not only a beautiful day, cool and partly sunny, but it was a FANTASTIC adventure. (He was so glad I got him to go!)Our guides, Vincent and Moses were wonderful. They began by getting everyone into their harnesses and safety helmets. They make sure everything is secure. The harnesses and safety helmets were even comfortable. We went on a Thursday and were part of a group of six guests (they have groups of up 10). With the smaller group, we got lots of personal time with the guides and could ask questions and see all the beautiful sights from each of the "deer stands." (At one point, we saw an eagle fly right by!)I thought I would be scared to take the first leap off, but the instruction was excellent and all care was taken to keep people safe. I was never afraid to go across the steel cables. I screwed up once, and didn't brake soon enough, but Moses was prepared, waiting, and stopped me. (Thanks again, Moses!) I was fine. There are some stairs to climb (of course--this is a "canopy" tour). There's also one long hanging wooden bridge that you have to cross, but again, you are locked in to a steel cable as you cross, so you feel safe. The adventure progresses from shorter, simple zips, to a very long, 1200' one. By the end, I was feeling very confident. I would totally recommend this to anyone. My husband and I are 55 years old and it was an adventure we'll never forget!
My family absolutely loved this zipline tour. It's one of the best ones we have ever been on! Our tour guides, Tony and Cassidy, are very experienced and made the tour that much more enjoyable. This tour is a must when visiting Minnesota
This was our first zip-line tour ever and we really enjoyed it. I liked that you worked your way up to longer, and faster runs each time, which helped build confidence. Our guides, Jeff and Cassidy, were awesome and very encouraging, safety was definitely #1 priority throughout. Even for those of us scared of heights, it was enjoyable (I will admit there was one line about halfway through that was very totally nerve wracking and I wasn't sure I could do it - but with a encouragement from Cassidy, my husband, and lots of praying, I someone managed to survive. ;-) I would definitely recommend this tour for any one with a sense of adventure. They do zip-lining right at Kerfoot - lots of runs which get progressively faster, high focus on safety, awesome guides - I would definitely go again. If you ever thought to yourself, "I might want to try that", this is THE place to do it!
When my husband and teenage sons said this is what they wanted to do for a fun summer weekend, I thought I could just go along and watch. Oh no! My kids insisted I participate. And I am glad they did. It was exhilarating! The guides are terrific and the view is breathtaking. Our tour was originally scheduled for late June, but there was a lot of flooding in the area. Lee offered a full refund, a partial tour, or a reschedule. Kerfoot Canopy Tour is a great experience!
I'm adding this to my list of favorite things ti do and something you should try at least once. Bring a pair of sun glasses if your eyes get teary with high wind speeds and get ready for some fun! It's a hiking adventure with water and rest stops provided. Would we super fun with group of people you know but just as pleasant with strangers. The staff were great and the views were breath taking. The course is well maintained and I felt very safe but with the benefit of feeling the thrill and exitement of swinging tree to tree like a monkey!
We are 8 guys in our sixties visiting the area for the first time. Most of us hadn't gone zip lining before and this exceeded expectations. Really thrilling but no one got hurt or even close to getting hurt. The coaches were really great. The course was laid out so that you built up your confidence and could handle really long lines that would have seemed impossible an hour before (and seem impossible to me now!). Really nice, isolated natural environment. Well organized. Down side is that there are only yucky porta-potties which will be a turnoff esp for ladies, so plan ahead. Less than an hour from Minn. hotels. A really wonderful experience.
I have been on several zip lines. This is the first one that hand breaking was required. I was a little apprehensive about learning this technique but the guides were excellent teachers and soon I was able to brake like a champ. The guides were very professional making sure our safety was their top priority. We safely zipped over great ravines and through the tree tops enjoying every thrilling minute. I think they could improve the customer experience by emptying the non flushing toilets more often. The two that they had were pretty much full to the top. I would also suggest mowing the parking area. The flooding made the place very difficult to locate. I would suggest better communication for guests arriving from out of town with reservations as to which roads are closed. More signs directing guests to the tour would be greatly appreciated. Once we finally got there we had a great time. Don't forget the bug spray!
Less than an hour's drive from the Twin Cities, this was an afternoon of fun! When we arrived, the employees in the front office gave us clear information about what to expect and answered all of our questions (three of us had never zip-lined before). Our two group leaders were fabulous - they were very knowledgeable and personable - helping us to have a great time while keeping us safe. We loved using the Go Pro we rented on-site from Kerfoot - it was only $20 and they let you switch people wearing it (the Go Pros fit on each person's helmet) - and they give you a usb with all the photos and videos to take home. Read the website in advance for details on what not to bring - also please keep in mind the travel time to this place. The only downside for us was that the family we were paired with was really late and we had to wait for them. I totally recommend this experience at Kerfoot!
