This is a fun and good learning for the younger kids. I would say that most 3-5 year olds would have a great time. 6-8 year olds would like some things. Older than that are likely to be bored. Its a nice way to spend some time for the kids if you are at the mall, or just need to find something inside to do.
This is a great place to take your children but it is not to friendly with exchanges in other parts of the country. Wish they also updated more often.
I babysit during the summers and have been here the past two summers with both of my kids. They have loved it both summers and keep asking to return. It is reasonably priced and there is so much to do-whether it be from a puppet show, to a kid sized grocery store, to a lego center, train center, pizza kid joint (pretend), the kids always find something fun to do. They LOVE coming here.
You can use this as a destination for the grandkids several times,as they will only get through two or three areas in a three hour period, and then it's time for lunch or closing or grandparents' crashing.
Incredible facility, staff and exhibits! This museum is one of a kind! It's so fun for children as well as adults! The staff is helpful, professional and they all seem happy to be there. The museum is clean and very easy to navigate. They are constantly updating and improving their exhibits. It's a great place to take your children. It's very reasonable to get in and well worth the money. You'll have lots to talk about after your visit to the ICM!
They do a very good job at this museum. Lots of hands on fun. Clean. Like most children's museums, it is really for the 2nd grade on down crowd and that is fine with us. It is just the right size for her to have plenty of fun, see it all, then be tired and ready to go. The only thing lacking is locker space. Of course, I didn't ask, perhaps it was there somewhere. The coat room is too small. They should ditch the toy store they have and make a nice locker space.
We bought a family membership for my daughter and her son for a Christmas present. Our grandson is 3 1/2 years old. While he was excited to go at first, he quickly became tired of it. When they moved back home with us, we tried to expand the family members who could take advantage of the membership (since we lived at the same address), but the museum was unwilling to accommodate our request...despite the fact that we paid for the membership. Membership is a questionable value, and the staff members are not always friendly or helpful.
Good fun for young children. Educational activities for young children. Not designed for older kids. Well worth the admission.
Prior to purchasing tickets at $8 a piece I asked what the age range for this museum was, and the answer was 4-11. There is no way an 11 year old is not bored after a half hour. My daughter is 6 years old and she enjoyed some aspects of the museum including the Lego room and the flight room; however, there were other areas that she was just too old for. I loved how clean and organized the place was. The staff made great effort to organize each section. Overall, there is plenty to do at this museum. I highly recommend it for ages 3-5.
It is a good place if your group averages under 9 years old. My girls were just too old to appreciate the exhibits to their fullest.
