The staff at Visit LKN are warm and wonderful...very knowledgable and just love to promote our beautiful area.
We stopped here to relax for an hour or so. The lake is so pretty, lots of benches around the park and there seemed to be a lot of folks using the walking trails. It was nice spot just to sit and enjoy the lake.
There is only swimming access on the very north side of the Lake (at the state park). Don't get fooled by places advertising close to the beach. These are tanning beaches only!
We went to the Duke Power "museum" and attended a reading of a new book about Lake Norman. It was very full and quite interesting!
The children had fun. This was the main reason; therefore, goal was accomplished. I did get in the water because on the lake for me, the beauty is in the view. The calm atmosphere and enjoying the company of friends.
A very pretty little spot on the lake to have a picnic. Private picnic sites in the woods with a view of the lake, like campsites but without the tent.
Many good places to eat. Great shopping. There is also the very large lake norman. ( a fun pklace to go boating)
The northern part of the lake is quiet with little traffic. The southern part is nice but around noon becomes a little crowded and the water gets rough. Fishing if ok but the lake is really good for boating and sight seeing.
We go to Lake Norman all the time. My hubby like to fish but I like to just hang out. Its never too crowded. The only this I wish is there were more marinas that cater to boaters (food, grocery etc).
WE just wnet to run ansd exercise and really enjoyed seeing the families there and no pests. WE ran and then relaxed on a bench to see the boaters
