The area has good snow some of the time. It is pretty small, but the people are friendly. Not very much of a challenge for normal skiers.
Not that far away and can usually get a good deal on the lift tickets.
Phenomenal tree skiing. Extremely friendly staff. Best fluffy pow in WA. I've had runs dreams are made of when I hit Vintner's Ridge just as it was opened following a big powder dump.
Nice mountain with a variety of skill level runs, no lift lines, great snow and easy trip from Dayton.
We had a cabin in the blues and sorry we sold it. We still spend time on long drives and fishing with the kids. Take the time to enjoy the blue mt.
Nice place to find some great powder. The mountain isn't the biggest, but the lines are short, the trees are a blast to ski or board, and now they run the cat up vintners ridge it is even more fun to get up to bluewood for the weekend. If you like powder and hassle free skiing, Bluewood is the place to be.
What a great day with wonderful powder and not too many people. We are green skiers so we appreciated the "Country Road" run from the top to the bottom. Friendly staff, great snow...... We will be back
This place is my childhood ski-hill and I have a lot of fond memories there. Good long runs; great tree skiing when the snow is good; and overall good hill.Lift is slow and relatively long (15min one way); but runs are pretty long coming down. Restaurant food is weak and lodge is extremely dated (1980's) - the last time I visited a couple years ago.Ticket prices keep rising and rising and rising.
I don't think I've ever waited in line more than 2 minutes to get on a lift here. Great tree skiing (especially when they get a lot of snow), but the groomed runs are pretty average, except shorter than most places. Usually you like to go up on a day after they get hit with multiple inches, otherwise it's so-so. The ticket prices reflect the lack of runs and amenities. The food in the cafeteria is pretty good, obviously way over-priced, but I usually bring a sack lunch so it's never a problem. Parking is ample, and the runs, like the lift lines, are pretty clear once the day starts.
Had to get out of this gray inversion. Drove to Bluewood for some sunshine with a buddy today. We enjoyed the runs, snow was fine. I agree the runs are really short. The staff of the day, Less Than Pleasant. From the second we walked in to get tickets, the lift operators, the restaurant staff... Very unpleasant. Waiting inline to pay for an over priced stale hamburger a lady patron came to counter to ask if she could exchange the banana that she peeled open which was rotten. The staff lady reply was, well the manager just stepped away. Are you kidding me? It's been over 10 years since coming here, I am sure me and my friends can't wait another 10+ before returning. Too bad because it's so close to TriCities
