I found the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame to be a an Interesting, unique, and informative, museum. (but than again I am a fisherman/angler) Unfortunately most non-fisherman and young children would probably be very bored with most of this attraction. We fought a marlin on a fishing simulator, took a walk by the lake, and fed the fish that reside there. It is a beautiful piece of property and is located right next to the massive Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, which is a fun store just to visit. In all honesty, I wouldn't make a separate trip just to the visit the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum, but would consider it if already in the area.
Located next door to Marriott Courtyard makes the museum easy to find. It's keep very nice. You are given lots of literature. Cost $5. Seniors. Short movie on champion fishermen, types of fish. "Fishing Hall of Fame", informative, very good value.
We stayed at the Courtyard marriott for the end of our trip. IGFA is right next door. My daughter was curious to check it out so we went inside. I was surprised by how nice it was. I, myself, am not much into fishing but it was a great break from the heat and I learned alot of about our waterways and fish. Out back there is a nature trail with a fenced in area with a gator (there may be more than one but we only saw one). You can buy fish food from inside the gift shop and feed the fish and turtles in the ponds outside. My daughter (10yr old) really enjoyed it. We ended up being there for almost 2 hours and had a great time.
Got there just before they closed which was at 6pm so didn't get to see too much but loved the simulated fish tank and the lovely displays of fish types ... it's a good way to kill a couple of hours learning by fish somewhat and taking pics of the displays
There are some interactive active stations including a fishing and rod pulling station. Good History and good education. It is a little pricey for this type of museum. The facility is nice but parking could be painful. The gift store has some items on sale. You could spend 30 Minutes or 3 hours based on your level and interesting in fishing. I spent about 40 Minutes and was not impressed but I don't fish. There are no staff employees inside the facility so it is 100% self guided.
Spend 90 minutes learning about fishing and viewing the nice displays that they have. I believe this property can be used for meeting venues. There's a nice activity using simulated fishing. At $20, it's worth it.
Very informative , clean, well kept, courteous staff. Great for anglers and non anglers. Short movies interactive areas fun packed full of information.
We were early for a flight at FLL so we headed here. What a neat place! Fun and informative. If you fish you will LOVE the displays - even if you don't enough to do to enjoy. A true gem and very affordable to visit. Highly recommend.
Great building plenty of parking...however any avid angler will be left wanting much much more.Obvious that they need to do a lot of fund raising to really pump this HOF up to get it close to what it's real potential is
If you fish, you must see this. It brings the incredible history of game fishing to life. You can really feel the spirit of this sport in this building. Great place to visit.
