My sister and I took a girl's day out with several of my sister's work friends, and Chandler Hill was by far the best spot we visited. The food was great, the wine was excellent, the views spectacular, and we all had a great time. Would definitely add Chandler Hill to another day of tasting.
Attended a wedding at Chandler Hill. The event was superb, outstanding staff, food and décor. The event was by far one of the best weddings I have attended. The winery will soon be one of my favorite places to visit.
Chandler Hill Winery is one of the best wineries in Defiance. The view is awesome, food is great but sometimes it is way crowed. Need to get there early to get a table. They have a good wine selection.
Perched on a beautiful hill overlooking Missouri's wine country, Chandler Hill is worth the trip! There are options to sample local as well as wines from other areas. We tried a sampling of 3 reds all served in Riedel stemless glasses. We explained to the server our likes and dislikes and she recommended something different for each of us (3 people). There was a fabulous band playing old school funk there that afternoon. We also ordered food from the extensive menu. The plates were large, fresh and attractively presented. Top notch wait staff too. I can't wait to return again!
This was a very lovely venue to host a large springtime anniversary celebration. All family and friends, from the little ones to the elderly, were well accommodated and enjoyed the afternoon. We felt right at home, and they offered a convenient shuttle to overflow parking.
This is one of my favorite places to visit during the Fall because of the amazing view on their patio. The wine selection is wonderful and the food is REALLY good! I wish we were close enough to go more often. One of our favorite wineries.
My husband and I are members and we love sitting on the terrace listening to the live music on the weekends. They have great appetizers, love the meat and cheese plate. We have also enjoyed dinner there which they have certain evenings of the week.
This was my first visit to Chandler Hill Vineyards as a guest -- the other times I've been there, it's been as a wedding vendor, so I was never able to take in the full experience of being there to enjoy myself. The staff was very friendly, and our server, while fairly new, was absolutely polite and could not have been nicer. They now offer dinner on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and the menu definitely didn't disappoint. My wife chose the Hangar Steak with Boursin mashed potatoes. The steak had a wonderful flavor with a few nice areas of char, and my wife didn't eat it with ketchup (something that makes my stomach turn, but that's how much she enjoyed it!). I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with some reservation -- I mean, who pays $14 for fried chicken? It may be a special recipe, but it's still fried chicken. Well, silence my lips, because Chandler Hill's recipe is some of the BEST fried chicken I've had anywhere -- the breading was light and crispy and had great flavor, and the caramelized onion mashed potatoes and asparagus complemented the entree nicely. Everything was hot and fresh, so that was a plus. The wines are phenomenal. You'll blink at the prices per bottle, but these are seriously some of the best wines I've had anywhere, and I've been to a lot of wineries. A reserve flight will get you 3 flight glasses of their reserve wines, and you can also get other 5-wine tastings. We had a Groupon, which included 3 of the Reserve Flights sets, but we opted for a Reserve and a Legacy tasting, and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. When Chandler Hill first opened, they didn't make any of their own wines, but in 2013, they began to create their own vintages and started producing all their Missouri wines from grapes grown on the grounds. The Lake Hawk Vignoles stands out as a prominent winner for those with a sweet tooth, the King Buck Red Blend is perfectly balanced and flavorful, and the Cold Spring Rose is a tart combination of strawberry and rhubarb that pairs very nicely with the Toffee Gooey Butter Balls dessert. If you have the extra scratch to pick up a bottle of any of their wines, I highly recommend it.The view, deck, tasting room, all of it was spectacular. Make a reservation if you're coming with a group, and make a night of it with friends. You won't be disappointed!
Found the vineyard on the way back from visiting Daniel Boone Historic site. The location on a hill gives great views. The facility was very good with wide open interior space and spacious outdoor deck. The music was good. The menu was limited but the food was great. We really liked the cole slaw, best I have ever had. The wine is very good but pricey, cheapest on the karte is $15 with most over $25 a bottle. Parking was limited but they run a shuttle to and from the lower level parking areas.
I can't say enough good things about the winery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were delicious. The views fantastic and the food was excellent!! Will definitely return.
