We stayed at Grand Harbor Resort on the first night of a vacation to the Wisconsin Dells. I have a 10 year old daughter and she loved the water park. The hotel staff were very nice and the hotel was clean and updated. We enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is very clean and well appointed. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The kids loved the waterpark and the arcade. The fact that Tony Roma's is part of the facility is a big plus. That alone has brought us back for more hotel stays and we will return often in the future. This is the perfect short getaway for families in the winter.
On our first visit, we were impressed with the hotel staff's customer service. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our two-night stay. Overall, the facility is very nice. Located right along the Mississippi River with a beautiful walkway. Only drawback was the thin walls between rooms that impacted our sleep. The water park was OK. The exercise room is located near the top of the building and offers 2 televisions and a nice view of the area. However 2 of the 5 pieces of equipment needed maintenance. Our room price included water park passes, but we were charged an additional 3 percent for other amenities, including wi-fi, shuttle service and more.
We went for a girls' weekend. The staff was friendly and the room was nice. We didn't use the waterpark. Overall a nice visit.
We took our 10 year old son and 17 year old nephew there for a few hours for something to do. They offer food, mini lockers, and a nice arcade. We able to drop them off for 3 hours while we checked out some local fun. The kids had a blast and we all got to do our own thing for awhile,
This was our 3rd time staying at this Resort. It has a little of something for everyone and is proximity to almost everything. The view is great, there's a great restaurant inside an nightlife for the grownups is very close. What more could anyone ask for.
We stayed here as part of a package with twilight riverboat cruises. the hotel has a water. Park good for kids. Food was good at tony romos. the live entertainment Thursday July 10th was really BAD. Not together or I tune. Other than that it was great
Each fall when we come to Dubuque for Fire School we stay here. Each room has a fridge and microwave. Really like having a fridge! We stay an extra night because it is so relaxing. Great bar with engaging bar tender.
Weekends are busy, but it can still be fun. Noise from the water and screaming kids can be overwhelming if your ears are sensitive - there is no where for all the noise to go except bounce off the walls and echo everywhere. It can make it hard to hear anyone talking to you. Watch your own children because the young lifeguards may not...they seem pretty self-occupied and unconcerned about the young children under their feet. I would hate to imagine what would happen if an emergency really did arise...how long would it take for them to notice someone in danger. Your kids will love this place - and that is why we go.
I forgot to mention how loud the waterpark area was, my youngest child was so scared of the noise that she would not play or let go of us. There has to be something that can help this issue. The locker/restrooms were FREEZING!!!! Turn the heat up or something and the bathrooms were not very clean at all for the price we paid to stay there! Also I felt there should be more lifeguards, especially by the little kids areas! There were long waits for the small elevators by the front door which is very cold in the winter. Lots of little things that made a huge difference in our satisfaction! I do not feel we got what we paid for!
