Everything about this place is wonderful. The chateau is lovely and very comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the wine was amazing. And a visit wouldn't be complete without one of their pizzas, which are delicious. I highly recommend making the trip and be prepared.... you won't want to leave!
My husband convinced me to go to this winery after baiting me with woodfired pizza. Woodfired pizza within a few miles of Asbury/Dubuque? I couldn't believe it so was eager to check it out. Once we arrived at Park Farm Winery, we took our own little tour of the building and were amazed at the scenery. There is a room upstairs with a balcony where people can sit and drink their wine. Afterwards, we decided to try the wine tasting, which includes 5 samples at only $3 per person. What a bargain! I've had many wine tastings in the past but none for that price. We settled on purchasing wine by the glass (@$5 each) and ordered a woodfired pizza. We chose to sit outside on the terrace to drink our wine and eat, that way we could enjoy the spectacular view as well. The pizza was so delicious. The crust was cooked just right and the red sauce was so yummy! I would be easily persuaded to go there again. One thing worth mentioning is there is about a mile or so of gravel/dusty road up to the building. If we had known this in advance we would have opted to drive our more rugged vehicle.
My fiancé and I had a very bad experience with Park Farm. I've been going to Park Farm since it opened so decided to check it out as a possible wedding venue. We received a wedding contract from the event coordinator, reviewed it carefully, made the decision to hold our wedding and reception at Park Farm and started planning. Over the next two months, we made two rental payments and requested to set up a time to meet with her to ask questions. Although she seemed too busy to even sit down with us for a few minutes for questions, during that meeting she provided information regarding an additional "flat fee payment" that was not listed in the contract that she gave us two months earlier. I'm not sure how we would have even noticed the issue if I hadn't asked about payments. She admitted that the "additional flat fee was not listed in the contract". They had "recently been revised and that is one thing that was missing." We are having a smaller wedding and the flat fee was five times the rental amount listed in the contract she provided us and not within our plan. We were also concerned that if she messed this up so badly, there would be more issues holding our wedding at Park Farm. The coordinator did not even seem to care that we chose to cancel or all of the frustration she caused us. In the meantime, other event places that were on our list had booked up. In addition, it took five weeks for us to receive our payments back. The "coordinator" also mailed one of the payments to my fiancé's work address instead of home. What a complete mess.
I have been to Park Farm Winery several times now and they never disappoint. The wines are excellent and we always find a new one to try. And now with their pizzas, it just gives us more reason to spend an afternoon out there. Love the view and the service!
Went here with a group of women to snowshoe at the acres of woodland surrounding the vineyards. A beautiful scenic area. The chateau was also very nice with a large tasting room, fireplace and seating for conversation. It would be a great place to have a party or reception. Wine is delicious. Bought several bottles.
recently we visited park farm. Great smooth wines. the atmosphere old world all the way. plenty of space on the deck with picture post card views of eastern Iowas fantastic landscape. Did i mention the brick oven pizza? it was . Make it a day trip and visit these great folks at park farm. you wont be dissapointed
We decided that Saturday was perfect to do some Leaf Gazing with some Wine Tasting to top off the day. It was a good plan! Though we were a little early on the fall color as we drove North along the Mississippi River Road we found an excellent display of color as viewed from the back deck of our destination, the Park Farm Winery. Of course we had to sample the wine and decided to stay for some wood fired oven pizza. We chose to taste the Dry Flight which consisted of 2 whites and 3 reds with one red sold out. We enjoyed tastes of Iowa La Crosse La Fume, Sunday Afternoon La Crosse 2012, Vintner's Reserve Marquette 2012, and Mississippi Red - an off dry, slightly sweet fruit forward red. We decided on a bottle of the Mississippi Red thinking correctly that it would pair nicely with the Pizza we were ordering liberally seasoned with hot pepper flakes. The pizza was good but a little disappointing. A bit light on the the extra toppings and the crust while appearing crispy was actually a little doughy. The reserve red was very nice but we decided to leave that for our next visit. The grounds were scenic and the winery a pleasant experience. All around a nice stop on the Iowa Wine Trail and definitely a top choice among those visited to date
Beautiful location, wonderful wine! We love going to Toast and Jam during the summer. The Sunday Afternoon wine is by far my favorite!
My daughter and I celebrated our birthday at Park Farm Winery. The girls pouring the samples of wine were very knowledgeable and very, very friendly. The prices of wine were inexpensive and full of flavor. Outside we enjoyed the beautiful view, pizza and wine. Also the gentlemen employees helped us out with our cases of wine. Great, great staff!!
Wines were just ok nothing to brag about. Didn't buy any. They need better servers ones that know about the wines. The scenery outside was nice .the drive was very pretty to the lane to winery
