If you appreciate the beauty of stained glass and the skill of Tiffany these windows are not to be missed. The information is a pamphlet with no tour so you can read about each window and sit as long as you like. Office staff from the church were helpful. Donations are appreciated.
This little church is simply beautiful! Based on other reviews, we decided to check it out and were not disappointed. A friendly volunteer gave us a very informative tour about the history of the church and the Tiffany glass. Be sure to experience the beauty of this place the next time you are in Dubuque.
What a beautiful church! We have seen many around the world and this is not to be missed. The Tiffany windows are beautiful and so clean the colors are wonderful. The wood ceiling, pillars, etc are gleaming and beautiful. We are so glad we stopped to see it. One better thing would have been there in the late afternoon when the sun is out to see the light coming through the window behind the alter.
Most everything is closed for the Winter in Dubuque. We were there on a Saturday. We parked outside the church wondering if it was open or not. Saw people go in and come out so decided to give it a go. We got lucky. There were people in there, but only because they had just decorated for the next day's Mardi Gras service! We had called the number on the website but go no answer. There doesn't appear to be actual visiting hours, just service times, so it's probably luck of the draw as to whether you get to see this "attraction" or not. They were gracious and offered a quick tour that was greatly appreciated. I don't know much about Tiffany glass but I learned a lot in the short time I was there. We got to be up close and personal with the windows, they were amazing in their color and texture and beauty. I wanted to just sit down for awhile and take it all in.I would definitely take a friend or family there if we were ever in Dubuque again. Definitely worth the stop and worth the short amount of time the tour takes.
This is so beautiful you cannot put it into words. The story behind this church and its windows was told by a lady from the church. She was very helpful and really brought it to life. My husband said he could attend church here everyday ..... that's how inspirining it is!!!
We visited this little church to see the windows and were not disappointed. We were greeted by a church member who told us of the history of the windows and a quick rundown about each window. We were then allowed to get close to the windows and even touch them. They are amazing, the colours, vibrancy and light of the windows is unbelievable. At night the large window at the front of the church is back lit and shines on Main Street. I would highly recommend these windows, I think it was my favourite visit in Dubuque.
This is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. The Tiffany windows are amazing. The fact that this church welcomes visitors to look at these windows (and sometimes even provides a tour guide) is even more amazing. What a great gift that they are sharing with everyone. Please, leave them a generous donation when you visit, they really serve their community in wonderful and much needed ways.
The guide gave a clear view of the tiffany glass and the history of the church. I don't know where else we would have seen this beautiful art work up close.
This church did not disappoint, with its lovely old Tiffany window, pipe organ, ceiling and friezes. Staff is extremely accommodating, and the gentleman who took us through very knowledgeable.
Beautiful beautiful BEAUTIFUL stained glass... it puts me in a trance, it's so gorgeous. If you get the chance, try to stop in and see the Tiffany stained glass windows
