Circulating through the historic centre of Dijon is time travel.Beautiful very well-preserved buildings provide a special charm to visitors.
My daughters and I shared our first Kir at the restaurant in this building. Sat outside on a cool October day and enjoyed the view, the fountain, the people and the Kir.
This is a beautiful little street with really well preserved original houses. We enjoyed the architecture very much.
Wow, was enlighted, luxurious, pleasure, check what happens so many years ago and how they lived at that time.It is a journey to the past.
Strolling through Dijon old town is quite an experience. I wandered around from streets to streets early in the morning when there is not much crowd. I love the peaceful feeling and enjoy many wonderful old buildings every where I look. Definitely a destination that I would come back to visit in the future.
Historic and beautiful part of the ancient city. It's a must for photographers and history fans. We are all lucky that Dijon was spared by the ravages of war through the centuries. And it's free!
On the face of it this looks like a short shopping street. Yes, great shops selling all manner of bits an bobs, fantastic sorbets near the Place Rude and the tourist office at the far end. Hidden through doorways and short corridors are some fantastic courtyards and houses. Be brave and if you see an open door which appears to lead somewhere go in and see fantastic Medieval house tucked away.
For sure if you go to Dijon, schedule 1/2 day for enjoying the street and the surrounding. Shopping sightseeing and just relaxing. Don't hesitate getting lost in small streets next to this one, passing from a street to another one through a building. After all you can just ask for the station direction once you want to find your way back ("gare" in french)
One of the most evocative cities in France and surely the most under-appreciated. The old town with its timbered walls is super - 100's of buildings, large and small dating from Medieval times, some still used as they were more than 500 years ago.
Strolling around Rue des Forges its very interestingGreat for photography . The best thing to do is to stayin the city so we have more time to explore
