Went here last night to see the Motown Musical. Great valet service. Picking up our tickets was a breeze. The interior arcitecture and decor is beautiful. The cushioned seats were fairly comfortable although I felt a little cramped. The show was very good. The wine was horrible. The bathrooms are very well maintained. The line at intermission for the ladies room went up two sets of stairs but it moved along pretty smoothly thanks to the attendants helping people along. Overall, my husband and I had a great time at the show and would be more than happy to return to this venue in the future.
This is your typical old theatre. It has all the old school opulence. It is quite large. All in all a decent place to watch live theatre.
We went to see Motown the Musical at the Fisher Theater. I’ve been here several times and have never had a bad seat. I was surprised that some reviewers found the acoustics poor. I’ve never experienced poor sound for any of the plays that I’ve seen at this venue. The building is fantastic, the people that work there are great, and parking is easy. This show was great. The performers studied their roles well including the gestures of the singers that they represented. In fact, they were so good that I didn’t recognize that Stevie Wonder was actually there in person until they announced him at the end of the show. A must see if you can get tickets!
Great, laughed until I hurt. Talented group. Looked like there was not a bad seat. Location was easy to find. Just need to pay attention to which door you entered as there are several.
Enjoyed Kinky Boots very much. Sound very good and comfortable seats. We always have lunch at the Regis before we use the indoor walkway. So great on snowy days!
Like I said the architectural was very nice & the place was easy to fine & they have a parking ramp for parking
I dont think this was in 2013, but that is the farthest back the drop down let me select. The Fisher is a beatuful, historic theater. Dont expect broadway, but just as good as the London Victoria theather. Parking is easy, and safe. I would love to be a season ticket holder.
Saw Three Days Grace there. Its a great venue to see your favorite band up close. Very intimate setting. I went in July so it was very hot with so many people there and its standing room only unless you pay three times the amount for those tickets!! The bad part of it honestly otherwise a total blast!!!
This is the first time I went to Fisher Theatre in Detroit. The theatre itself is very beautiful reminiscent of the art deco era. We seen Motown the musical show and was great. When going from Canada it was very easy using the tunnel and M10. When you purchase a Broadway show ticket it includes parking on site. The show was one of the best musicals I've seen. The talent is amazing. If you like music then this show is a must see!
Any trip to Southeast Michigan/Metro Detroit should include a production at the Fisher! We have enjoyed many fine productions here, mostly musicals. The building is gorgeous and classic. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or the Fisher box office. Tip: use restrooms before showtime...very crowded at intermissions.
