From the staff at the front gate to the scenery on the water, this park is perfect and friendly. A lot to do there. I really enjoy taking my dogs and letting them roam and explore near the old slaughter house. I've heard the horseback trails are good. I know the walking and running paths are good. They have everything from ultra marathons to regional high school cross country meets. Fishing to disc golf. Kudos to assistant manager Matt and his staff.
This is a great family park for waterside activities. Vast lawn areas for throwing down a blanket shaded by huge trees. Mini-water park operates during the summer. Fish hatchery just down the road you can visit also. Bank fishing in calm water.
We had a great time. It wasn't too crowded so we found a grassy spot under a big tree near the sandy beach area. We had fun in the pond which they have areas sectioned off for swimming. The beach area was also very clean and great for building sand castles. We didn't use the other parts of the park but the slides looked fun. They have restrooms, air station and play ground equipment and more.If you have the state park pass (cost $10) you don't pay the $5 entrance fee each time where it easily pays for itself.
This state park has something for all ages, with swimming area, motorless boating, horse back riding, volleyball, water slid, picnic area w/tables, semi-sandy beach, fishing & much more. The park is very clean, very relaxing. Bring your suntan lotion, enjoy the day.....
The city park is a hidden gem. Nice structures, restrooms, and rentable spots for parties, etc. Only $5 entry for a day! Great beach access in the summer for the kiddos.
Fun, pretty park. Nice horseback riding trails. Can get bad with mosquitos during the summer months, so bring bug spray!
We had a great picnic and the area was very pet and children friendly. It only cost 5 dollars well worth it.
We love Eagle a Island and go there very often mostly in summer because it is only about 10 min. from our house. I love the grassy hills where we set up our chairs to picnic and with the big trees you can almost always find shade. The pond is great for swimming of all ages. The sandy beach and playground equipment great for kids. The paths around the pond and beyond are great for walks all year round. Eagle Island is one if our fav places in Boise. It reminds me of a pond I used to swim at when growing up in New England. The only thing I wish is that the water flow through from the Boise River was better so the water would be cleaner and higher later in the summer.
Water slide! Picnic area! Views! Boise River! A really nice place to take your family for a picnic and a day at the river.
It is a really great place to be and nice to get out close to the river. The bad part was their payment system messed up and printed our receipt for the wrong date and time. We ended up getting a ticket for it since we didn't realize the mistake before we left out vehicle. The park rangers were nice and said they would look into it but it ruined our experience. Probably not going to be going back. It is not worth the worry.
