This is a nice small town pool but unfortunately Edmond is not a small town. The hours of operation are short and can be very expensive for a family . Only open limited hours Memorial Day until mid August when school starts, Open weekends until Labor day
This water park is clean and nice. It is a fun time for everyone who likes water. They have a few too many rules which can put a damper on things but for the most part this is a fun place to go.
Many reasons to go some where else!! 1. They don't open until 1pm and then they close early, mostly around 6. 2. To be kicked out of the pool every 50 minutes to remind those to take a break or use the bath room. If those that need to I'm sure will use the break (pee) while they're swimming anyways. If you add that all up, it is almost a whole hour your waiting if you stay from open to close. 3. If you watch the life guards during the break, they get to swim, have diving practice and play around until the 10 minutes is up. 4. Can Edmond be any cheaper I'm taking our $$. 5. Times and $ for entry is a big rip off!!!
Pelican is a small perfect water park for those young ones who just aren't ready for the big parks. They have a huge play area only a few feet deep with fountains and slides next to a lazy river that my two grandchildren loved. A deeper pool is also there and diving board for any older ones with a giant slide funnel they loved. Life jackets are provided but you can bring floaties which we did not know. Prices are average and you can purchase food there. Nice facility...only thing I didn't care for was it doesn't open until after one in the afternoon.
Nice local water park. Not mega park, smaller in a good way. Easier to watch your children.Be sure to check hours of operation.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour trip to Pelican Bay! It is similar to a community pool with extras! Perfect for small children. They had a shallow water playground with a slide, a 4 foot swimming pool with a floating dragon for the kids to jump on. They have water spouts, a river current, and a waterslide. Perfect place for my 3 and 4 year old! Was literally able to sit down in the shallow water and watch the boys play. I think they are afforable; paid $22.00 for a family of 4. They had snacks, chips, corn dogs, etc, to keep the kids full if you need a snack. Free life jackets if you need one, first come first serve.Lastly, thoroughly impressed with the life guards. They were in the water watching the kids, not just standing on the side. Felt very comfortable with a 2nd eye on my kids. Will be back!
Nice clean small pool with some fun kid stuff - much more laid back and less draconian about everything this year. Great place to take younger kids under 10. Very clean staff friendly this year. They should have expanded this instead we got another Edmond bank. Hurrah now I have a drug store and bank on every street corner.
I visited here several times last summer with my three year old daughter. There are lots of things for the little ones to enjoy, plus other things for older kids and adults. I can't wait for it to open up again for summer! Would love to try one of their summer movie nights.
I have a serious issue with their "life jacket" rules... Can't wear life jackets in the lazy river... Can't wear life jackets in the Vortex... Can't wear life jackets in the deep end... Can't wear life jackets on the water slides... If you can't wear a life jacket in these areas, why provide them for people to use? Then, the only real place they enforce the no life jacket policy is the water slide... A couple of life guards will run kids with life jackets out of the deep end, others won't ... I have a problem with that... If they are gonna have a no life jacket policy, it needs to be enforced throughout the entire park... Not where they feel like it... The safety breaks they take every hour for 10 minutes is a little much... I understand why it's done, but it's too much... It needs to be lowered to either 5 minutes every hour or 10 minutes every 2 hours... Last Saturday right after the last safety break, we were back in the water for maybe 5 minutes when the whistles started blowing... Someone "deficated" in the pool... A piece of feces was discovered in the pool where the big water slides empty... The park was closed down... When I asked about a "rain check" I was told that if you were hear for less than 1 hour before the park was closed early, you would get a rain check to come back another day... My daughter and I had been there for an hour and 45 minutes... So, I paid full price for an hour & 45 minutes of swim/play time instead of the 3 hours I had intended to be there... Yesterday, at the exact same time as last Saturday, the whistles went off again... Yep, pool was being closed early for "feces" found in the SAME place as last week... If you ask me, I think the lifeguards wanted to leave early... It was just a little too coincidental for me to have the same thing happen in the exact same place at the exact same time... Overall, it's not a bad place to take younger kids... If you have kids from a couple months to 10-12, it's a fun place... Older kids might get bored, but they can go to white water bay...
This place is amazing! A great family attraction in the heart of Edmond. It is great for adults and children. The pool is big, there are 2 slides, one tunnel and one open, and also they have rock climbing! There are a few downsides to the place though. If lightning is within 13 miles of the pool, everyone has to get out. You can either wait, depending on the storm length. Or you can leave and you can't get your money back. Every hour, everyone must get out for 10 minutes to apply sunscreen, get a snack, or just chill. The prices are very good and the rain chance and UV intensity is listed at the front desk. The pool opens at 1PM on weekdays. It is opened weekends but I don't remember the hours. One more thing, they have movies! On certain nights out of the week, you bring your own float and watch a cool movie. Some of them are: Madagascar, The Incredibles, Cars and Monsters Inc. I would go here! It's a rockin' place to go!
