This is a great value attraction. $3 per ride and it is quite a long ride ( especially if you are old). Kids love the tunnel and the bridge. Waiting time is minimal. It is a good idea to take a picnic as there is plenty of room. Check if there are private functins on though as they can take up a lot of the available space.
Def worth taking the kids to ride on the steam-engined miniature trains! For only $3 you will have a 15-min ride, even including running thru a tunnel!
I took my 2 year old daughter here and can remember going here about 8 years ago .What a difference these 8 years had made to this place. I was well impressed at the quality of the experience and we had a wonderful time. The ride is excellent value for $3 , so much so we on a second time. On the trip around , we also noticed that they have a party area with its own private train !!Impressive Job and makes a great place to visit in Eltham
Get away from the bustle of Melbourne city and head to Eltham to enjoy the outdoors. The trains whilst smaller than the real ones are great replicas. The track goes for about 2km through tunnels and over bridges. Have a picnic. New toilets are nearby as is a kids playground. Expect queues such is the popularity of this attraction. With several trains running, the queue moves along quite well.
Visited here for the first time today despite the fact that we have lived in Victoria for over 40 years. We were with the family including three grandkids who knew all about it (5, 3 and 2 years old). Arriving early was a bonus although there is plenty of parking, the best and closest spaces go quickly. Only $3 for each person and the ride is not just a quick run around, it is quite a journey through the grounds then you come back to the station only to find you are on the centre line and are going around again. There is a tunnel where the kids all screamed their heads off (seems to be the thing to do) and lots of people waving to you as you travel round. Staff are very friendly and even though there are long queues some times they are soon cleared with plenty of trains running throughout the day.
The Diamond Valley Railway (miniature) is slicker and more impressive than some public railway systems. At $3 a ride, really the only downside is the large queues due to its popularity - but deservedly so.
A must do activity! Just a wonderful family activity. . And great playground and sports fields in the area. Cheap fun and mesmerizing for kids. Memories to last. Well done to all the volunteers!
Great place for a family gathering, picnic area available, and then the great train rides. Prices for rides the same for aduts and chidren. All staffed by Volunteers who know and love their trains. Take your pick on what train you want to ride. Very safe, but make sure the little ones keep their hands within the carriages. The lines have been extended over the years and everyone loves the tunnels. Great place for Christmas parties and school holidays. Situated in Lower Eltham Park.
Great setting for a train ride for adults and kids alike. Cheap entertainment that is old fashioned value for money.
This train ride on a miniature railway goes across bridges and through tunnels. The ride takes about 10 minutes and keeps the kids happy and entertained. The scenery keeps changing as you travel around the track so that also adds to its appeal. Apart from the miniature railway the park has lovely long walks and is a great place to take you leashed dog for a walk. There is a very basic food van at the park although across the road from the entrance is a very good restaurant where you can order a full meal or just have coffee - with outside tables.
