Would only go here if I happened to be shopping at Erina Fair and nothing else to do. May be good if you are a young kid and like special effects and/or horror movies but for real cinema, can't beat the Avoca theatre which has excellent movies that have a story and is only 10 minutes away.
cinema ticket prices changes depending on the theater so don't be surprised if the tickets are different each day.
Handy location part of large shopping center complex with plenty of parking. You really need to check prices before committing - $s fluctuate - recently they were running a special $9 general admission - however - not too recently they were charging $18.
This is at Erina Fair shopping Centre. Only about 5 mins drive from Terrigal. They have about 8 theatres approx. Parking is easy as lots of areas to park. Some of the theatres are a bit smelly from obviously never seeing daylight, however once you get over the initial OMG, you do enjoy the movies. The theatres are different sizes. Lots of food available in the theatre or outside at the shopping centre. Always a good couple of hours spent here.
The prices used to be way too high, but have been greatly reduced now. It's a really affordable cinema, and always has a great choice of movies. The food is way too expensive though - buy a snack at the Coles in the nearby shopping centre.
They have all the latest movies showing and about 7 or 8 theatres. It's in a large shopping centre complex with Myers, BIGW, Target, K-Mart, supermarkets, Aldi and lots of coffee shops and cafes.
Ok if you are in the area, i.e Erina shopping centre or looking for the typical franchise style movie. For atmosphere and "quality" style movies, it is hard to beat the Avoca Beach cinema which is only some 10 minutes away.
I had not been to Hoyts ERina in some time. I was pleased to discover you can allocate what seat you want when you purchase your tickets. No more mad scramble when the cinema opens to get a good seat. I went to an afternoon session and I still wonder why people would want to eat such rubbish at that time of the day. The fil was somewhat spoiled by noisy eaters rutting in sweets packets for another dose of sugar.
Since it was a rainny afternoon we decided to watch a movie a comedy in cinema 3 at hoyts cinemas Erina Fair. When we walked into cinema 3 the smell was so bad we had to walk back out.It was a mix of unclean carpets and curtains, mildew and the mix was something like rotten food and smelly socks. We haven't been to this cinemas for sometime since we had the same problem last time. But we didn't give up we went into all their other cinemas until we found one that we didn't have to hold our breath. We didn't watch the movie we wanted to see, but we did find something usefull if you buy a bucket of pop corn the strong smell of the popcorn over powers the bad smells. So don't forget if you are going Hoyt's Erina fair don't be tight and buy a big bucket of pop corn it might just help even if you don't like pop corn.
Enjoy the high quality surround sound and picture, especially in 3D. Be ware of high prices though lol.
