For well over 150 years the "Franken" churches have been bringing Christ to the people. St. Lorenz is the largest of the Franken churches and offers a thriving elementary school education. It is a wonderful paradox to experience the historic architecture and liturgy with contemporary screens.
This church is gorgeous! Make sure to get a brochure at the side driveway entrance and go on a self-guided tour of the stained-glass windows. If you're able to attend a service, all the better! The pipe organ is lovely!
The stained glass windows, the Painted dome above the alter, the massive pipe organ, the long, long aisle and the very size of the building itself, combined to make me feel like I was at a Royal wedding. Such a beautiful and amazing work of architecture, I sensed the love and dedication that went into the building of this masterpiece. I can only imagine what it must feel like to sit in the church pews on a Sunday morning and sing hymns of praise and listen to the minister preach the gospel. definitely worth the trip to the west side of Frankenmuth to see.
Large beautiful church. The stained glass told a story. Probably a good idea to have a guide with you to learn about the history of the church. Really enjoyed.
Beautiful inside and out. The stained glass and architecture is amazing! Nice 30 minute stop during the day.
I was totally amazed by the beauty of the St Lorenz Lutheran Church. I could has sat all day and gazed at the glass windows. When I visited the church, the sun was shinning and the windows were so bright with the colored of the stain glass. We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the church and the story behind the windows.
Enjoyed the caroling brings out child hood memories, again a very rainy day. A beautiful designed building a must see
The church is beautiful. The music was wonderful and the preaching was life-touching! The people were friendly and welcoming.
Love this church. Took my friends to see the church and they were speechless. Awestruck. I am sure they will go back and take their families.
I love this church's beauty and far-reaching symbolisms. Inside, I felt the presence of God and the angels as I gazed upon the altar. Outside, the church steeple seems to soar toward the heavens. The nearby cemetery tombstones read like a who's who of St Lorenz's faithful past. St. Lorenz captures the beauty of faith, and the symbols of Gods everlasting presence.
