Great, wide-open runs and a gorgeous view.In years with enough snow, the ski-in, ski-out accomodations make sure your days start and end right!
Being an avid snowboarder, I come here every year with my mates. Not as steep as Hotham however I find the setup of this mountain better. Best snow coverage (on par with Hotham, depending on the season) in Victoria. Friendly staff and great restaurants around.
Absolutely must see place for anyone visiting victoria. The views alone will blow you away! Drove here in summer, with no snow but did not regret. Was mostly a dead town in Summer, but we loved the views and setting.
Easy - kids skied all day - everyone safe and happy. Snow on the roads had cleared by the time we arrived, it was an easy walk or mini bus ride to the chair lift from our accommodation. Ski lessons at 10am each day - friendly, knowledgable instructors - great fun time had by the whole family.
Falls ia definitely my favorite destination in Australia to go skiing. Nice wide runs and not too steep in the beginners areas while also offering more challenging terrain for those more experienced. Weekdays the resort is often only lightly attended making lines at lifts very short. Saturdays are another story.Snowmaking is somewhat limited and its not uncommon for sizable portions of the resort to never open (or only open for a week) within a season due to lack of coverage. The resort could invest in an additional lift in the ruined castle area as this area is always crowded and has a whole hillside of skiable terrain that isnt used due to lack of access. Its probably time they invested in replacing the towers lift with a high speed quad too.The only negatives are the price of food at the takeaway locations and the ridiculous cost of parking - $30+ per day. I know many ppl that simply drive past the ticket gate to avoid this cost nowdays. None have ever been fined.
Great skiing for beginners with good lessons (effective instructors) and conditions (nearly all beginners and intermediate runs were open).
Excellent resort for mountain biking, we ran the DH1 trail and the Gulley trail, both are real good fun.
Thanks for the review Jean. It is great to hear how much you enjoy the village and value our staff - we think our unique ski-in ski-out village and customer service are a great reflection of the special place that Falls Creek is.We are sorry to hear of your experience with the Nordic Centre. We take all feedback on board and will strive to work with the Nordic Centre (and all of our mountain operators) to provide the best experience possible for our guests.Falls Creek Resort Management
Arriving early morning our boys quickly geared up and off snowboarding .great slopes for all and fabulous places for coffees and eats. Snow was awesome !First time staying at the resort much better than traveling up and down the mountain.
While other Australian mountains boast about having great snow, Falls Creek always seems to have the best on offer. With four distinct skiing areas, the snow holds well into Spring and gives skiers and boarders alike, the best true ski in/ski out experience anywhere in Australia. Falls Creek also boasts the friendliest mountain staff from Lift Attendants to a team of dedicated Volunteer Guest Service Mountain Hosts, who not only assist guests around the mountain, but also run free ski/board tours.Families enjoy the ease of getting around Falls and can ski a vast area of different terrain. There's no agro at Falls, just friendly attitudes that keep people coming back, year after year.
