Wow! Of course, we had the perfect day with the incredible color of the waters. That is breathtaking alone. We saw spotted eagle rays, dolphins and a huge manta ray on our island tour. They were within feet of the boat, so if you wish to snap pictures, be prepared. Or simply take in the experience. We went snorkeling in a totally gentle place. They provide masks and snorkels. You can bring your own , of course. And bring a towel. They have life belts, as well, if you would care to use those. We had a picnic on a little island. There are choices of sitting in the shade under trees or in the water on tables that have umbrellas. The swimming there is clear, gentle, in shallow water. The lunch! Wow wow wow! The guide prepares fresh poisson cru right before your eyes. He prepares the coconut milk taking apart a coconut like it is easy. I doubt it, but for him it is swift and sure.He provides the opportunity for you to try it as well. He also has the fresh coconut water to drink, the shredded coconut to taste and the coconut milk to taste. Then onto the buffet. We had salad, curry rice, BBQ chicken, fresh pineapple and pamplemousse , and fresh cooked fish. All you can eat and more. Soft drinks, beer , water and rum punch as well.A trip to the pearl farm. They will explain how the pearl is formed. There are colorful fish to look at and the structure itself is interesting as well as is the incredible wooden bench. The shark feeding. What can be explained? Claude goes into the water and has fish parts for the sharks. People can hold onto the rope in the water and be inches from about 30 sharks. Or, you can stay on the platform and watch the sharks as well as see the colorful fish in the clear, shallow water. What a day! Paka, the guide, was very kind and courteous with amusing stories thrown into the day. He will answer any queston. Just ask. This is a relaxing day. It is paradise.
Very relaxed, beautiful scenery and delicious lunch? The shark feeding was spectacular! We did this tour twice, both times different and fantastic!
If you want the best of the best for a Motu Picnic, be sure to use Huahine Nautique. We booked this tour on-line based on previous guest experiences and everyone was correct. The staff/guides were entertaining, the motorized outrigger canoe was clean and safe and the food was wonderful. Eating a Polynesian lunch on s small sandy island on picnic benches in the water with ice cold beer is a great way to while away an afternoon. There was ever ukulele music played by one of the guides. We met some wonderful people from Switzerland and Sweden on out tour which added an even more international flare to out trip. This was, by far, the best excursion experience we had on our 10 day Cruise. This is definitely a "MUST DO!"
Really fun day. Good snorkeling in crystal clear water. Great lunch with local dishes on a motu plus music, dancing lessons and fun. Lots of local rum punch! $100 per person.
This was a great day including snorkeling and a motu picnic. We were all well taken care of and given everything that was promised. Don't hesitate to use this company.
A must do for visitors to beautiful Huahine Island! A day long tour is the one to do. Our local host Armondo was very confident and most charming and had a super knowledge of the history of the island going back to ancient times pre the French takeover. The visit to see the beautiful pearl farm and see the mother of pearl jewellery was a real highlight and the quality was really good. Stopped on a small island or 'motu' for a well laid out lunch. What a lovely trip! This tour comes highly recommended.
Scenery was brilliant. Crew were fantastic. Lunch was amazing. Shark feed was sensational. The whole day was superb, basically touring around the entire island.
Superb fun with snorkelling and Motu picnic. We could not have asked for better service. The guides were so passionate about their island.
We did the honeymoon picnic. It was truly magical and there are no better people than the people of Huahine. Our guide picked us up on a lovely catamaran and boated from our hotel, under the bridge connecting Nui and Iti islands and to a pearl farm. The views were lovely and we had a cooler of rum punch, Hinano, water, fruit, and juice. Just wonderful! The pearl farm was cool sitting on top of the water all alone in the middle of the lagoon. But the best was yet to come. He then took us to a place we could drift snorkel (the current lightly carried us in one direction and he followed us). Awesome and amazing snorkeling. Squid and fish everywhere but no sharks! Then we rode through the local beach/waves where we saw a ton of local children surfing and a guy kite surfing. Really cool to see and steadily enjoying the views of the mountains on the island and the beautiful waters of the lagoon. Then we stopped for lunch on a private beach with this amazing table setup with lounge chairs in the water. They served us an delicious lobster lunch while playing on the ukele, guitar and serenading us as we ate and drank. We followed this by just sitting in our lounge chairs and watching all the tiny fish swim up to us with the waves. Magical memories that make me smile just thinking about them. As we boated on after lunch we saw a pod of dolphins in the lagoon that we chased around a bit, then on to join our tour operator's friend who was feeding the sharks. This one shark swam a mere foot or two away from me, truly awe-inspiring watching these creatures. And then our day on the boat was done. :-(
We had a good time, our host were very friendly and added to the day. This was one of the better excursions we were on our trip. Highly recommend booking this trip. We did from our cruise with Pacific Princess.Snorkeling was very good, and bbq was very fun.Only reason not a five star, just not into the pearl farm brief stop but gave an opportunity for a bathroom break.Thank you.
