Been visiting since i was a little girl. Great sales after Thanksgiving...has so much to offer. I cannot wait to visit again.
So much to see at one location. Food, supplies, merchandise everywhere Enjoy!
This place was such fun! Parts of it reminded me of an old family grocery store we had in Baton Rouge, LA. It was just missing the old "coke machines". People were lined up for someone to cut slices of farm bacon or wedges of hard cheddar. I was particularly fond of the Peter's Pottery display. I helped boost the local economy of this small town by purchasing several pieces of pottery for christmas presents. They even came with free gift wrap. The young lady that helped me was named Christie. She told me the details about the pottery and helped me decide on some great pieces. Before leaving, I ventured over to the small garden supply area and purchased seeds for next year's garden. If I would have had more time (and more money), I could have been entertained for several hours. Overall, I had a great time here!
When you enter Williams Brothers, you are transported back 100 years to a typical country store. They are famous for their hand sliced bacon and the roudts of cheese that are cut to perfection. Besides food products, Williams Brothers has an excellebnt selection of shoes for men, women, and children. Clothing is stylish and reasonable. When it comes to jewelry, Willliams Brothers not only has European and American designed jewelry, but they have Choctaw Indian Jewelry made on the reservation at Philadelphia. People drive for miles to shop at Williams Brothers , have their picture taken and shop at one of Mississippi's most unique experiences
I've been going to Williams Brothers on our trips to Mississippi for as long as I can remember. From the outside, it looks unassuming, but inside they have a grocery with fresh (and sometimes local) produce. They have a deli slicer where they cut bologna, bacon and other meats. However, the highlight of the grocery for me is the fresh cut hoop cheese. Past the grocery, they have a rooms full of clothes and shoes. There is a great selection of jeans and boots. Prices for all the clothes are reasonable and often less than what you'd find at a larger/chain store. Even if you don't need anything, Williams Brothers is worth a visit to see what an old-time general store was/is like.
I stopped by for some old fashioned hoop cheese (it's fun watching them cut it on the big wedge slicer) and also brought home an empty hoop box. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it. :-) The service was fast (as always when it's not crowded) and friendly. Perfect as I was starting a 3 hour drive...
Great place to get hoop cheese, jeans and boots. Stop in for one stop shopping - groceries, clothing, even plants for your garden.
Love going here to buy the Bacon. This store is where you can find just about anything you want or need! I am fortunate to live in the same town where it is located
This place is definitely worth a stop, with a little something for everyone, including lots of great western shirts, shoes/boots, a grocery store and some knick knack kitch stuff. The hand cut bacon and cheese looked amazing and I wished I could have taken some home. I did buy some very reasonably priced local honey that is fabulous. This store is one of the more interesting sites in quirky Philadelphia, MS.
This is one of the few old time general stores in the USA. You can buy barb wire, staples, overalls, boots, saddles, seed and groceries. They will slice your cheese or bacon to your liking!
