This was nice & interesting. I would have like to have seen larger mansion. Overall good experience.
A friend and I visited Fresno on a "girls weekend" and since we both enjoy restored old houses decided to visit the Kearney Mansion. It was a bit outside of Fresno and somewhat difficult to find at the back of a park. Better signage would improve things immensely. The house itself was well-restored and the tour guide very knowledgeable. At the time we were there they only gave tours at certain times of day on certain days and we showed up before the door was opened even though we were on time. We wondered whether we were at the right place because of lack of signage but when another car showed up with people who wanted to see the house we decided to stay. I'm glad we did because along with the house tour we got an excellent history lesson on the area from the tour guide!
This place was a great idea in process, I really wish Fresno could spend the money to get it back the way it used to be, I believe this place could be a great destination if Fresno just put the effort to it. Anybody who has the chance to go and explore the house will see the potential there.
We go to the mansion periodically. The volunteers who conduct the tours and keep the place up deserve allot of credit. It is stepping back in time... at one time it was a working ranch.Plan to take our grand children there...
This old house is a must to see. Located in Kerney Park. The history there is something. The house is furnished with stuff from that era.
Kearny Mansion Museum was a great part of my childhood. I used go inside of the house as a little girl. This house inspired my love for luxury. This is a must see for everyone in Fresno but most of the staff are not very friendly. Everyone should go during the weekends.
I visited Kearney Mansion many years ago while I was attending Clovis HS Interior Decorating 101 on a field-trip. The architecure had an intriguing characteristic suited for Mrs. Kearney.
liked large grounds, trees, good green place for walking, when I am traveling, need to maintain exercise routine, find good places to walk not too interested in the museum
I loved touring the Kearney Mansion, which was actually the Manager's house for the working farm there. Mr. Kearney was going to build a castle there on the now Kearney Park grounds but died before he got a chance to start. But the plans are there at the house and drawings too. If you llike looking at old house and furniture to see how people once llived, you will really like this tour. Oh, it's only $5 per adult. Can't beat that price.
This home is a true landmark in Fresno...it has been very well restored and maintained. It is supposed to be haunted...and I have to tell you that I can feel "something" when ever I am there. Great place to visit.
