This is the stuff and dont be afraid to try it...Ur in the Smokies ya no....Was so nice to learn about making and any questions are answered. Our boys loved this stop. Shucks we could of run away with there credit cards. Sounds like that shines a working. HeHeHE.Recommend Strawberry with a little clear pop. yummmy.
Me and my wife went here on our trip to Gatlinburg and and I loved it- she is not an avid moonshine drinker but she even tried it. Everyone is so nice who works there and the feel is authentic and the moonshine is great we even bought some being there just from trying some we never had before. You definitely need to make time and stop by- you wont be dissapointed.
Wandered in on a lazy Sunday afternoon to get a few free samples but Matthew added on a comedy show. He was so hilariously funny, it was awesome. So good we went back the next day to see him, but he took the day off; the girl who took his place was no way near as cool. Matt should train all the employees. Bought three jars in his honour.
I visited Ole Smoky Distillery for a tasting last year and it was loads of fun. It was their grand re-opening, and it was a real party. The staff interacted well with the customers and made it a good time.Unfortunately, it seems a lot has changed in a year. This year I stopped in again hoping to try some of their new flavors. However, the tasting pretty much featured the same flavors from the previous year...which is understandable. However, where this place really lost it is in the staff. The girl who was pouring for us was more concerned that one couple had gone through twice in one evening, than telling us anything about the moonshine or interacting with us at all. She poured us each a half a thimble full (which if you know how small they are, you know how microscopic the tastes were.) She also seemed to be in a hurry because pretty much as soon as we put our thimbles down...she half filled them with the next flavor. All in all we tried 8 - 10 flavors in about four minutes (if that.) It was a waste of time.I did see one server (blonde lady) who seemed to be having fun with her customers....so maybe I just got the unlucky draw, but it wasn't worth the sop this year. Needless to say, I didn't purchase from this distillery.
Came here to try moonshine as I had never had any previously. The gentleman pouring the tastings was quite funny and added to the experience. Definitely a tourist spot, but definitely worth stopping in.
if you like moonshine than you have to stop here !! we enjoy it very much ! they had a live band playing so we got to listen to some really good music it was really cold the day we went but it was worth it we will go back for sure !!
Very wide selection of flavors, something for everyone even if you are not a moonshine fan. Very helpful and friendly staff. Be sure to try the Peach, so smooth you will mot be able to tell you are drinking moonshine.
I enjoyed visiting here. Sipping on moonshine and listening to the bluegrass band that was playing made for a enjoyable evening.
While strolling through Gatlinburg, we found ourselves needing to try the free samples of moonshine. This is a great location, the staff friendly and informative about their products and once you show ID you can try every sample! The moonshine was very good, and there is no pressure to buy. Thank you!
A lot is going on in this place. it's very crowded and loud due to them having several tasting areas with everyone talking. kind of takes away from the intamacy of the craft i saw elsewhere. that being said, i think they make a very good product. their size allows them to offer a few more flavors of 'shine than the other distilleries do. don't see Pineapple anywhere. they also sell the strongest "Blue Flame" which is a blue tinted, but 120+ proof shine. A lot of merchandise to purchase as well. They sell their product in Alabama so if i'm hankering some 'shine, i know i can get some close by
