Great local beer. Inherently Floridian. The staff is great, super knowledgable and love what they do. Stop in on a Tuesday for an ephemeral release... One off pilot beers that are super small batches and fabulous when you catch them.
Nice size bar with some good beers. They also have a food truck chilling outside with some good BBQ. Good staff, good people, good spot!
My husband and I went to Swamp Head for the first time on Friday. It was great because they had the outdoor area setup with a food truck and a DJ. I was worried the DJ would suck but instead was really good. They played good music with lots of different styles. The only reason we didn't stay later was it got cold and wet. We will go back.
If you want good craft beer this is the place to stop! I like IPAs, ambers and stouts/porters. It was a great find and they will fill other peoples growlers!
Brewery is not the easiest to find since it is located in an industrial park. Once you get there you see the garage doors opened and the brewery on display. Sit and enjoy a glass of a good variety of beers brewed on the premises. Recommended!
The location is a little weird, but overall, the place is great! The beer is delicious, and cost about $5. They close early, which is unfortunate. The staff was very friendly and happy to give out samples of the beer to help you make a decision.
We stumbled upon Swamp Head Brewery a couple years ago and this place just keeps improving. We are in Gainesville several times a year and always stop in on a Friday afternoon for a couple of beers. Great place to relax and enjoy one of their craft beers. They also do a brisk take-out service. Friday nights during Gator home games can get really crowded so the staff has now included more outdoor space, a DJ and a food truck. Parking is tough so arrive early. Good times at Swamp Head!
We visited the new location for their grand opening and were pleasantly reminded what a wonderful Florida gem we have. Their beers are diverse in that they like to try new things but also their staple beers are always on point. The staff are friendly and I've always spotted the owner & brewers wandering around each time I've stopped in. I feel like that shows they truly care; this IS their life.
You will have to go to Tampa or beyond to find another brewery of this caliber! Traveling through Gainesville this gem far exceeded my expectations. Atmosphere is a warehouse brewery, but the Cottonmouth IPA is 1st class! Would have given it 5-stars except for they have 1-toilet to be shared among a very large crowd. We where there Thanksgiving week when UF was playing an away game. The town was empty, but this place was packed so I imagine that 1-toilet could become a major issue when there is an even larger crowd.
This is a very small but quite worthwhile brewery. The employees were very friendly and generally more than happy to go out of their way to chat, help you or provide any information you might need. The beers are quite good. After trying all of them, I took a couple of "growlers" home as well as some special edition stuff that was in wine bottles. I am very happy I gave this little brewery a shot. It is a bit of hole in the wall and in an out of the way location but it is DEFINITELY worth a visit.
