I visit this park on at least a monthly basis. It's great for kids with plenty of space to run around in. In the summer when it's busy there is still enough space for you not to feel crammed in. There are plenty of different areas as well to enjoy. Lots of events take place throughout the year. We have done the enchanted parks for the last two years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth a visit
Very beautiful park for families to relax. There's a beautiful victorian house in the middle of it. Lots of green.
Took our youngest today who is 16months old and she loved it.There was lots of other families there also, the park its self is very clean, lots of things to do,the best part for the kids to see is the animals, great addition considering the park is free.
The play area was nice and clean, lots to do wish I had longer free the children loved it. No dogs allowed in play area a proper dog exec rising area, the children liked pets corner

As a resident of Gateshead, I visit the park on a regular basis and, as such, it is easy to become complacent and to take it all for granted. It is a vast, well kept urban park with fascinating and quaint Victorian architecture which has a wide appeal no matter what the season. As a local amateur artist, I often set up my easel and "dabble" a while - very relaxing. There is, what can only be described as a "Fairytale Castle" known as Saltwell Towers which serves coffee, tea and snacks daily. The "Towers" may also be booked for Weddings or Corporate functions. In short, the best free-show in town - well worth a visit
A great place to visit, particularly on a hot summer's day. Ideal if you want a hilly walk, a rest on the grass, a place to exercise your dog, a game of bowls,an ice cream, a drink and bite to eat in the quaint cafe or to look at the flora & fauna. The lake always looks like it needs some care and attention and the snack bar at the top of the park is never open!Best time to visit is just before 9.00 am on a Saturday morning for the Parkrun.
